    Cookers buying guide

With an oven, grill and hob in one appliance, here are five features to look out for when buying a brand new cooker.

What size cooker do I need?

Large families and culinary whizzes will love cookers that give you more space for multiple dishes. 60 litres or more in the main cavity and around 30 litres in the secondary oven or grill will cook up a mighty delicious feast.

How can I clean my cooker?

If you like scrubbing away with a pair of marigolds on, we won’t stop you. We will warn you though, a lot of cookers actually help take the burden of cleaning your appliance away from you so it’s absolutely effortless.

Pyrolytic cleaning functions burn away all grease and grime at around 500 degrees, reducing it all to ash at the bottom of your cavity. Catalytic liners absorb the leftovers and burn it all away, while some other models have a smooth, shiny enamel lining. With the help of these helpful features, all you need to do is wipe the debris away with a damp cloth. Put the marigolds away, you won’t be needing those!

What kind of fuel does a cooker use?

Our range of cookers cover all fuel types. Gas? Check. Electric? Yup. A dual fuel model that uses both? We got it! Plus, we’ve even got a bunch of LPG-convertible cookers, so you can get cooking wherever you are.

What kind of hob can I get with a cooker?

Gas hob cookers heat up quickly and look amazing – great for traditional chefs - while ceramic hobs are super easy to clean. Induction hobs work their magic by only heating the pan, so there’s little chance of any kitchen accidents.

    What about the Hot Zone?

When buying a new cooker, you’ll have to think about the space above it – the Hot Zone. You’ll need at least 75cm between your hob and cooker hood so make sure to check the height of your new appliance when you’re on our site.
