Tumble dryer types

  • Condenser and heat pump tumble dryers are really easy to set up and install. All you need is a plug socket nearby and you’re ready to go!
  • Vented tumble dryers have to be placed near an external wall or window. This is because they have a hose at the back that needs to be vented outside.

Tumble dryer sizes

Grab your tape measure and check the height, width and depth of where you want your tumble dryer to go. This will give you an idea of what size tumble dryer you can get. The height and width tend to be standard, as they’re designed to fit nice and snug underneath a typical kitchen worktop. The main thing that you’ll need to measure is the depth, as models with a large capacity drums tend to be a little bit deeper than other models. If you’re buying a vented tumble dryer, make sure you leave a few centimetres for the pipes at the back of the machine.
