    European Sandwich Trio

3 sandwiches inspired by French, British and Italian cuisine!

According to the British Sandwich Association (yes there is such a thing), this week is Sandwich week! I like the fact that it coincides with the time of the year when we’re more likely to take our meals outside, be that sitting in a swanky café or taking or picnic to the nearest park. There’s something so nice and relaxing about having a meal under blue sky and chilling out on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

I know it’s easy to just pop into the nearest supermarket and buy one of the many sandwiches on offer there, but I find that even the act of actually preparing even a simple meal for a picnic seems to make it this little bit more special and personal. A few simple ingredients, some fresh food, all wrapped nicely and presented in a basket do look more appealing than some plastic wrapped mass-manufactured sandwiches, don’t you think?

So, here are my three favourites. They are inspired by French, Italian and British ingredients and each sandwich has its own bread variety. I’m certain that I don’t need to tell you how to assemble a sandwich, so this is probably less of a recipe and more of a way to inspire you to try different takes.
