Every year on Valentine’s day we think of new and creative ways to impress our loved ones. The shelves are swimming with red fluff  and we want to be more original while keeping the spirit of Valentine’s alive. So here we have it: Valentine’s love heart themed pancakes.

Here's how it's done...

Here's what you'll need...

  • 6 Large Free Range Eggs
  • 230g Plain Flour
  • 2 Heaped Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 280ml Milk
  • 2 Pinches Salt
  • Food Colourings of Choice
  • Honey to Drizzle
  • Icing pen to decorate (I used chocolate but any kind of icing will work)

Here's how it's done...

  • 1

Add dry ingredients into a standing mixer and pulse to combine.

  • 2

Whisk the eggs and add to the dry ingredients and mix for a few minutes.

  • 3

Pour the milk in to the bowl and whisk until everything is smooth, your mixture should be quite thick, if not add a touch more flour.

  • 4

Separate the mixture into 3 separate bowls and add food colouring to each, stir until mixed well.

  • 5

Place a small amount of butter into a shallow pan, place a chefs ring of preferred size in to the middle of the pan and pour in your first mixture. Flip and cook the other side, take out and leave to cool, repeat until you have no mixture left.

Once the pancakes have cooled, it’s time to start decorating. Using the icing pen, pop on your favourite “love heart” quotes, drizzle with honey and serve to a loved one.
