If there’s one thing we love around here, it’s a good smoothie recipe to help us start the day. We’ve teamed up with Elisa from Happy Skin Kitchen to create this fruity yet creamy smoothie. Elisa emphasises how easy it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle with the contents in your fridge freezer at home. In her own words Elisa describes the aim of her blog as: “to share all I have learnt in the past three years about food, nutrition, exercise and a healthy lifestyle which has helped improved my skin and hopefully will help you too!”.

So without further ado, here’s her recipe.


You will need...

  • 1 sweet potato – it needs to be cut into quarters, steamed (skin off) and frozen beforehand
  • 1 frozen banana
  • A bag of mix frozen berries
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Almond milk

For toppings:

  • Any vegan granola
  • A mix of fresh berries
  • Peanut butter or almond butter
  • Coconut chips

Here's how it's done...

  • 1

    Place the sweet potato chunks, banana, berries and avocado into a blender and add a dash of almond milk.

    Start blending and if you see your blender struggling add a bit more almond milk.

    Blend until creamy and smooth.

  • 4

    Pour into a bowl.

  • 5

    Add your favourite toppings and enjoy!
