It’s time for a brand new year in school, so let’s make homework fun with these dapper creatures who double as pencil and stationery holders. They’re easy to make and will ensure your homework station or craft table looks awesome.

 

Here's what you'll need...

  • Empty shampoo bottles
  • Googly eyes
  • Craft foam
  • Felt and fabric scraps
  • Double sided sticky tape
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife
  • Marker pen

    Prepare the bottles before inviting the children to make this craft. Peel any labels off and wash the inside of the bottles. Mark out the shape and cut down to size using the craft knife and scissors. We cut a hole in the back of the pink bottle to store small items, as the shape of the bottle worked nicely as owl ears.

    TIP: You may want to wrap a paper template around the curved sides of the bottle to draw around for fox ears, frog eyes etc.

    Invite the children to choose how to decorate their animals. Cut the felt, foam and fabric into shapes for the animal’s clothing and features.

    Cover the reverse side of the materials with double sided sticky tape.

    Stick the cut shapes onto the bottles.

    Add details, with a permanent marker, and googly eyes.
