We’ve all been hoping for a little bit of sunshine to come our way here in the UK, and there has been a few glimmers of it in recent weeks. We’re generally quite obsessed with the weather and this obsession even seems to be seeping into interior style trends of late, with clouds being a popular motif.

So I thought I’’d follow the trend and make my own little cloud decorations, perfect for a child’’s room, or anywhere that needs a little brightening up.

Let’s hope those real rain clouds disappear soon!

here's how it's done...

Cut a length of wire and mould it into a cloud shape. Tape the two joins together with washi tape.

Wrap the wire cloud in washi tape, this is the time consuming bit, and you’’ll have to cut lots of shorter strips rather than trying to do it all in one go.

Thread your needle and tie a small knot at the end of your thread. Then thread it through a felt ball and cut to the required length. It looks best if you vary the lengths of your threads. Trim off any little thread tails you might have where you tied the knots.

Position your felt balls and then simply tape them onto the cloud with washi tape.

Such a simple little project, you could easily make a few of these in an afternoon and they cost next to nothing to make!
