You may have noticed the saturation of pink hues taking over the world of Insta-interiors. What was once the universal “girls'” bedroom colour, pink has now evolved into the perfect aesthetic that modernises homes through character and depth.

Designer, India Mahdavi, was given a three-month deadline to completely reinvent Sketch London’s iconic Gallery. It has since been renowned as the most Instagrammed restaurant in London for four consecutive years and currently houses two hundred and fifty of David Shrigley’s drawings. For India, pink is more than aesthetic. She says,

“For me, pink is more than a colour, it’s a mood – pink has become my flag, a way to express strength and fragility in one colour and in one space, both have become iconic.”

“My first desire was to paint it all pink and to stage the customer as if he were part of a film.

The pink contrasted with the radicality of the room. In this masculine atmosphere, I had to assert myself in front of this cubic room and introduce my vision: that of colour and gentleness.”

From dusty hues to mauve and hot pink accents, feel inspired by our favourite homes this week.
