This is my first upright vacuum but not my first Dyson. To say I am disappointed with it is an understatement. I've always had the cylinder Dyson Animal vacuums and loved them. This upright weighs a ton, you have to manually unwind and wind the flex and quite frankly I spend more time taking it to pieces and trying to find blockages than with all of my previous Dysons put together. I thin for this the "Animal" part of the description should be amended to state cats and dogs as is certainly doesn't cope well with small animal mess. Putting it together in the first instance was quite a challenge (prepared to admit that my lack of experience with uprights might come into play here but even my best friend was flummoxed for a while and she has always had uprights!). Trying to use the extending wand is like a gym workout too - fighting with the darn thing to get the tubing to extend is exhausting. To be honest I think I am being generous with the 3 stars - suffice to say I wont be buying one of these again - Dyson bring back the cylinder Animal vacuums please!

Excellent hoover just a little heavy

works really well but falls over easily

My previous appliance was a Shark the only thing wrong with the Shark was a loose wire as it enters the machine I soon found out that Shark do not want you to be able to repair their appliances. Hence my purchase of the Dyson. First impression lots of packaging and I did find, maybe I’m a bit daft, that I initially struggled to follow the instructions and reverted to you tube! It’s effective but a little heavy and I miss a turbo tool especially as it advertising pet hair removal. On the plus side the tools are stored on the machine. The hose is see through and any blockages will be visible. The hose is a little stiff but it’s early days. So far so good.

As previously mentioned, it is a little heavy to move around but the results are excellent
