Huawei? No way. However... here's why

2/5
I am 72,and have been using techy things for at least 40 years. I bought this because I wanted an entry-level tracker, mainly to record how active I am during the day and my sleep patterns because I often wake up feeling I have not slept very well. Although it just about does this, It is not designed with people like me in mind. To sum up: it cost me around £50, so I will keep it. I don't recommend it and would not buy it again, but it's not poor enough to make me complain to the manufacturers or to get rid of it. What I would really have liked would have been to test-drive three or four devices for a few days each to discover which would suit me best. However - Huawei. 1. It was very uncooperative when I was trying to set it up and sync it with my Samsung phone. I'd hope to sync it with my Samsung tablet as well, but gave up. 2. I felt it was asking for too many permissions to use my data so that I could use the associated Health app. 3. If you sit still and attentive, watching television, say, or listening to music, it assumes you are having a nap, and adds that into your night's total of hours slept. There are a lot of disgruntled comments about this on the Huawei customer service site. 4. There is no way of correcting that information. 5. The manual recording of weight in the Health app can only be entered in kg. I do not have 'smart' scales. I enter my weight manually in stones and pounds into an app called Libra. I'd like to be able to sync these, but if it can be done I don't know how. 5. The font size on the watch face showing number of steps cannot be enlarged. It is too small for me to read by glancing, which is irritating. 6. Under 'Exercise' in the app are these choices: outdoor walk, run or cycle, indoor run or pool swim. I do not do 'exercise' as such. I do housework, garden, play with grandchildren, carry shopping, go for walks... The 'steps' total is my only record of this activity, unless I call it an 'outdoor walk'. 7. I don't get the point of the heart rate record. I check mine on the device occasionally, for interest; but that information never appears in the Health app on my phone. The same is true for the potentially very useful 'saturated oxygen' level. 8. There is a section headed 'Stress' in the app. 'What is stress?' it asks. It replies 'Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension.' To read this information caused me stress: the minuscule white font reversed out of blue is almost illegible to me. However, I couldn't test my stress level, because I would have had to connect a 'supported device' to do so.

Great for small wrists !

5/5
I wanted a small fitness tracker that would fit my tiny wrists (16cm) and was recommended this one. It has so many features, links to my phone giving my notifications (helpful to reduce the number of times I tap my phone to check it!) and has helped me track my steps and up my exercise ! Perfect !

Looks good & does you good!

Love it. Been thinking of getting a tracker for some time, glad I waited for this. Managed 10,000 steps everyday of wearing it except one (well Sunday is the day of rest). I have a Huawei mobile so no problems syncing with the health app. Like that it reminds me to move when I have been sitting for too long. Also like that you can see who is calling or messaging without taking your phone out of your pocket, much safer when outside. Very comfortable to wear. Very feminine in pink/rose gold.
