Do not but for pet hair

This is suppose to be great with animal hair - DO NOT BUY if you have an animal it DOESN’’T work it just piles up dog hair in a pile and leaves them in clumps on the floor. Unless you want to use the very small head and do a gun work out by pushing and pressing hard to clear up dog hairs then don’t buy it. Had it 12 months and tried all versions of heads and no different

Not pet friendly

This is supposed to be great for those of us that have pets.. Wrong!! I spend more time picking up the clumps of cat hair after hoovering then the amout of time it took to hoover in the first place. Secondly, we have plush carpeting in the living room, by the time you've finished hoovering you need a massage.. Would never recommend this product!!!

Always owned Dysons, worst designed vacuum I have owned.

I actually dread using this product - and that is evident in my home! I also have the hand held Dyson which has all the tools I love and would like to have on the Cylinder. (Shame they aren't interchangeable as I need twice as much space to store them. Lets start with the positives - 1.the large floor head is brilliant. Gets into the corners and very powerful. 2. The new emptying procedure - only because the family are more likely to empty it now. Negatives - I am not alone in this, my friend said the same about hers. 1. The attachments - what was wrong with having them on the machine instead of having to shuffle them around the stem and take them off when going into tight spaces. 2. I could be wrong but the wand feels left handed, it seems more difficult to open that it used to be - Bizarre. 3. Putting the dusting tool - the main tool I use, at the end of the corner tool. Thus making it too tall to dust on top of things like window sills, mantle, bookshelves. Its so awkward. The other brush that is supplied is much harder and scratches. I wouldn't use it to dust my leather sofa. (yes before everyone starts, I vac before I dust as I have allergies). 4. It doesn't fold away to fit in the same size area - so the cupboard space I had now doesn't work and when I open the cupboard door the hose jumps out every time! It was so tidy before. It feels like this has been tested by someone where space is not an issue but the reason I have always preferred cylinders is that space has been tight wherever I live so I need to get in all the nooks and crannies with this machine. 5. The ball that doesn't tip - I get it - but realistically I didn't tip the machine over enough to lose all the features we used to have. 6. The buttons - had lovely big buttons you could operate with a foot. Now I need to carefully place my toe on them. Again - why? Improve what needs improving. - Next time Dyson, I would be very happy to test this product and discuss whether it works in a small house for a person who uses a product regularly-

although the idea for the new handle makes sense, overall it feels more unwieldy than the original design particularly when using accessories.

Dyson need to put more effort into corded

As a loyal dyson customer the choice was very limited as i wanted a cylinder that was corded so i didnt loose suction as the battery aged. This isnt as good as the 12 year old dyson vacuum i was replacing. The wobbely wand hold, poor design of the new hard floor head and lack of hose wrap around leave little to be desired. The suction, emptying and overall weight are good. If there was an alternetive i would have returned it but its the best of a bad bunch!

Powerful suction but not as effective as I'd hoped for

I had a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner for over 10 years and it never let me down, which is why I decided to buy another Dyson. This time choosing a cylinder one instead as I don't like the upright ball model. The Dyson Big Ball Animal 2 does have great suction, and is lighter than my old upright. It has a choice of three heads but none are totally effective. The main pneumatic head is a good size but does not pick up hair, it just pushes it around, which is crazy to say it's for pet hair - I have to go over picking up the hair by hand. It's suction is very strong - too strong for the average short pile carpet. The turbine head picks hair up but the size isn't great. The turbine tool, suitable for upholstery works well on the stairs. With this in mind I mostly use the turbine head The holder for the pneumatic head is very flimsy and I wouldn't use it as I can see it breaking in no time plus it has no strength to hold the pipe safely. Needless to say I am a little disappointed as it does get good reviews from a lot of people. Hide full review

Nice House Cleaner.

I have only had my Dyson Big Ball vacuum cleaner a couple of weeks, and so far it is very good.Emptying it is easy enough no worries about changing the dirt bags.It seems powerful enough but you need to be careful on anything a bit delicate it may damage it.
