This has got to be the worst oven we have ever bought. The outside gets so hot you can hardly press the timer or control knobs. It emits hot steam out of the bottom and the top which has totally ruined our kitchen cabinet. We have to place a tea towel over the top of the cupboard door directly underneath the oven to protect it from any further damage. The cupboard doors are de-laminating due to the heat. It takes quite a long time to heat up to temperature and you have to have the temperature set higher than a normal fan oven. It's one good point is that it is very quiet.

This is a cheap oven and it shows. The minute timer has a mind of its own and does not come on after pressing ‘several times’ as it says in the manual. I have had to press it up to 15 times before anything happens and then it needs a further process to set it. Not much use if you want to time a 3 minute egg - it’d be cooked before you managed to set the damn timer. Of more concern is that the control panel quickly gets too hot to touch when the oven is on - even the bottom fan oven which is further away from it. I can’t imagine it’s any good for the electrics behind it as well as being a burn hazard. I am really disappointed.

The purchase and installation were great but there’s a problem with the metal fascia of the oven overheating. Hopefully this gets resolved but at the moment, I can’t give this product a good review.

When oven is on for half hour the led where the time is starts to flash 0.00 and the top oven is really hot although not on. Phoned hotpoint and they said when the oven is on the grill element heats up too. Surely this is wrong. First time I’ve had a hotpoint and wouldn’t recommend it just had it installed and not happy at all.

2nd purchase as first one lasted just 4 years. Brought the same for ease of straight swap but would say it’s average at best.

Not very happy with DD2540WH oven. We purchased this oven and it worked for a year then the main oven fan broke. I thought that this was so unreliable that I would purchase a second new oven. However a lot of the Hotpoint / Indesit seem to share the same spares so I was not surprised when I had to replace 4 oven heating elements in 3 years. Hotpoint / Indesit / Whirlpool should be required to publish mean time between failure figures for there appliances!

Looks great, condensation runs out the bottom of both ovens. No fan in the top oven, don't see why they haven't made the top oven to the specification of the bottom oven, the point of a smaller oven is for less items to cook without the need to use the larger oven saving electricity surely. Not able to remove inner glass on door to clean without taking whole door apart. Dust gets in between the inner door and outer door so not able to get in there to remove it. Very disappointed with this oven. I have always had Hotpoint kitchen stuff and am really unhappy with this buy. Wish I had gone for another make.

It broke after 3 years. Disappointing.
