Very disappointed.

I fully understand the differences in how heat pump tumble driers work. I appreciate the cycle times are significantly longer than vented tumble driers - that isn't an issue for us. I understand that they require the condensate tank emptying after each use, that the main lint filter is cleaned before each use, and that they advise the heat pump filter is cleaned after 4 or 5 uses - None of the above would be an issue. What is an issue is that regardless of whatever cycle we use (even the longest 3hr 30mins cycle and with the extra extra dry option selected, clothes still come out slightly damp. They are spun at 1400 after washing, and recently we have spun them a second time. Even when the machine is only 50% full, the issue is barely any better (what is the point in paying for a 9kg machine if you can only dry 2kg at a time?) Our main annoyance is 80% of the time the cycle stops half way through (even on some of the shorter ones), when you wake the machine up the two warning lights are on, despite the tank and filters being cleaned before starting the cycle. (and upon doing it again there is very little lint or condensate present). - Oh, and other comments about emptying the condensate tank are right, it's a pain having to tip and shake at all angles trying to get it empty. The machine came with what appeared a couple of small cosmetic dints and issues (NOTE : AO have been brilliant and are sending out a replacement as soon as it comes back in stock, so again, not an issue.) I'm hoping that the issues above are due to a malfunction due to a bump in transit somewhere along the line, and the replacement will work as expected, or else I'll be asking for a refunded. Very disappointed. It could be resolved if the cycle times used the sensors to also extend the cycles automatically if they need longer, or even the ability to manually select whatever time you wanted beyond the 30/60/90 min option. We wouldn't care if the cycle took 5hrs, as long as it told us before, didn't stop half way through, and was dry when they came out

Vented - Heat pump

5/5
Coming from a vented dryer, looked to invest in a heat pump one, that would hopefully be more future proof. We knew getting one would require more time in running, they don't heat up to the temperature of a normal dryer. Our last dryer took hour and a half, maybe 2 hours to dry fully, this heat pump one, I put on the maximum setting and longest dry time, and the clothes have always come out perfect, but it does take 4 hours 15 minutes. For best results, do your wash load at night, put the dryer on delay, and run it through the night and make sure you stick anti crease on for a couple hours. I don't split my loads up, everything is mixed, so if your someone who likes to separate clothes, then the dryer time would certainly be less.

Amazing dryer

Amazing dryer. We had a condenser dryer which wasn't working any more so payed a little bit more for this heat pump one and we only need to put in a once and clothes are done.

Happy with this one

We have bought this dryer to replace a vented dryer. Now that the weather's turning we use the dryer at least once a day if we can't get the laundry outside on the line. With the cost of energy going the way it is, it would cost a fortune to dry with a vented dryer so we've been on the lookout for a heat pump dryer at a reasonable price. Some of the heat pump dryers out there cost that much, you'd probably never get your money back. However, this Hisense dryer is priced so (if my maths was correct) we'd have payback after around 3 years. With this dryer having a 5 year guarantee, that made our minds up to get this one. Features wise it has everything we would ever need with a dryer. Performance wise, we were expecting longer drying times with a heat pump dryer. However, we don't seem to be waiting as long as we were expecting for a cycle to finish. The dryer starts off with an estimated finish time but this adjusts (usually dropping) as the dryer senses how dry the clothes are becoming. Every time we've used it so far, the clothes have come out just dry but dry all the same. Being used to a vented dryer, you're used to laundry coming out hot and bone dry. But I suppose the heat pump way is kinder on your clothing, it just feels different to the usual! My only "gripe" with this dryer is what I'd class as an oversight from Hisense and their inability to answer my query on this. So, rather than have the dryer collect the water in the condensate tank and having to empty this after every use, I've connected the dryer to an outside drain so the condensate goes straight outside. However, after each cycle, the warning light still comes on telling you to empty the condensate tank - which is obviously already empty! This isn't a massive deal as, the next time you come to use the dryer, the light will have gone off again. But in these days of trying to make machines as energy efficient as possible, you'd have thought that they would have made it so no unnecessary lights were shown. I've tried emailing Hisense customer services to see if there is a way of disabling this light but they just don't seem to understand basic questions. They've emailed me a copy of the instruction manual telling me to read the section on emptying the condensate tank! Then they mail me to refer to the error messages section of the manual, asking which error message I'm getting - I'm not getting any errors, just a standard end of cycle light informing me to empty an already empty tank. They've also asked me to send them a video of the way I've plumbed the drain etc, I've given up now, I'll just put up with the fact we are getting an unnecessary warning!!! But, all in all, very pleased with the dryer itself in terms of price, looks and performance. Hopefully here's to 5+ years of cost effective drying ??

Brilliant

Love this dryer. I had read some reviews stating it takes longer than a regular condenser to dry. In my experience, it beats my (not very) old candy dryer hands down. The cycles are actually shorter than my old dryer, and clothes are fully dry. I've only used the standard setting so far but it's brilliant. Pretty quiet and cheaper electricity. Best purchase I've made this year.
