    Brillaint, brilliant dryer.

This is the most amazing tumble dryer. No - I'm not a bot. I don't work for the company. I'm a parent in a house with two young kids and I live in West London. With sports clubs and two working parents, we do one load of drying a day (at least). I did a lot of research on different tumble dryers. I wanted to change from my old condenser type to a heat pump version due to the (2022) energy crisis. The things to note are as follows: 1. I was really worried that it wouldn't dry as well as my old tumble dryer because it's heat pump. There was no need to be concerned - it is incredible - literally everything is bone dry and fluffy when it comes out. 2. I was worried about how long it would take. So the cottons programme says when you press "start" it will take 2-3 or so hours. Don't believe it ! A fullish load that's been spun in the washing machine (to 1200 rpm) is done in just over 60 minutes - which is pretty comprable to my old condeser. 3. It is the most energy efficient version I could find on the system. The cottons programme (which takes 9kg - not all of the programmes take the full weight) - uses about 1.24kwh (from what I could tell from the tech specs) - that's about a quarter as much energy as my old condeser machine (which was 4.75kwh) - with the current energy crisis - that is a BIG saving. By current energy crisis - I mean the charge for electricity after the Goverments (Liz Truss) latest price cap/support (i.e. from Oct 2022). 4. I've seen gripes here about the app / online controls. I have linked it online but I don't use the app - can't see the point tbh. 5. Only thing to note - the door comes pre-loaded to open to the right (the door catch is on the left). You can reverse it if you're good at DiY (it took all my technical abilities - I'm an accountant not a handyman and I just about managed to do it but it took me all morning) - so beware. Other than that - I can only say as a family we think this is a brilliant machine. Yes it's pricey but it will pay for itslelf in just over a year (given we use it at least once a day and current prices).

    Easy to use and economical

This was a replacement for a 15 year old condenser tumble dryer. It was not until I started using this new dryer that I appreciated the damage the older dryer was doing to our clothes! This dryer has a multitude of settings - probably more than any family would ever need. Because it works at lower temperatures clothes are dried, but not overheated, so need less ironing. Also noticing a lot less fluff to clear out of the filter. The towel and bedding settings work well, as long as the machine is not overloaded. The only downside so far is the increased cycle time.

Shhhh...... Its so quiet! Great for young households.

We bought this after our traditional vented tumble dryer started smoking and we decided not to risk using it anymore! I had heard that Heat pumps were more efficient and safer so we decided to take the plunge! We have had it in use for a week and here are my thoughts.... Its very, very quiet in comparison with a vented unit, that's the thing that strikes you the most. It takes longer to fully dry a load than a vented unit BUT it only uses about 25% of the energy that a Vented unit does! I reason we can take a bit longer to dry things and still save over 50% on energy. Being Samsung its well built and fairly logical to operate, it has a dial where you select the type of drying and it uses sensors to check how dry it is and switches off when its dry(ish) You can also simply select the time that you want it to run and it will do that - we have found for us that is the easiest to get good results and totally dry clothes. It condenses water that it takes from clothes and that water needs to go somewhere, normally the water goes to a reservoir which can either be emptied by taking out a tank which looks to have a large capacity, or you can plumb it into the drain very easily, so that you never have to empty the condenser reservoir. We plumbed it into the drain ourselves and the hose you need is supplied as standard on this machine - which is better value. The machine has an annoying loud tone that plays at the end of a cycle, we searched YouTube for how to turn it off after the 5th load as it would wake up the whole house! Its easy to silence when you know how and now I would say the machine is pretty much perfect. I can't compare this to another brand but I would buy it again if necessary, and we are loving the saving on electricity that our smart meter is confirming.

Looks smart and is very quite when in use. It’s only been used a handful of times since purchase so still experimenting with the available programmes. The instructions on how to use the dryer are clear and easy to understand. Takes much longer to dry clothes than your average dryer but uses a lot less energy to do so. So far, pleased with my purchase.

Everything you’d expect from a Samsung machine

    5/5
Really impressed with this dryer. We have a Samsung washer as well and through the Smart Things app, the two devices can talk to each other with the dryer auto-choosing the optimum setting based on whatever setting you’ve put your washer setting on! Loads of drying options and modes to choose from. Really easy to use and install. The description wasn’t clear as to whether this was a condenser dryer or had a valve to drain water. It turns out it’s both! You can just move the hose at the back of the dryer to the condenser part and then empty the water drawer manually after each wash, or have it go to a drain. Another thing not mentioned is that there’s a small interior light in the drum! This makes seeking that very last sock much easier! Loads of capacity in the drum and the machine was really quiet to use.
