We like the fact that this model has a Direct Drive motor which means that it is very eco friendly in comparison with standard or belt driven washing machines. AO should really make a bigger thing of this machine having direct drive in the description. It means that is is more reliable, less moving parts to go wrong, quieter and more energy efficient. It is quiet, very quiet. We have open plan living where the living area, dining and kitchen are as one. So having a quieter machine is important to us, and this one certainly is. Throughout the wash cycles this new LG washing machine barely takes our energy smart meter from green or amber lights. I think we have only seen it go red with the washing machine running once, and that was a 60 degree wash. It cleans the laundry very well with the liquid detergent that we use. The 1400 rpm spin cycle certainly gets the clothes touch dry as they come out of the machine, so it efficiently does exactly what it is supposed to do. The machine looks great too. Very modern and with a clear visual display screen. The tinted glass door means it is harder to see what's going on inside, but it does improve the aesthetic design. Our previous LG washing machine had been reliable for over 12 years old when we replaced it with this new one (that too had a direct drive motor). That sort of reliability combined with the efficiency and quietness of this new one made it our choice. This is a very good washing machine, it is certainly worthy of 5 stars.

Quiet machine good wash was normal wash took 59mins. Turbo wash 34 mins... 1400 Spin good size easily get duvet in has a duvet was for 1.32 but I did a norm wash in 69 came out super clean

Very good and quiet

Wish it washed as well as it sang a tune. A bit disappointed if I’m honest. Was the most we’ve pent on a washing machine and the reviews are good. Nice big 10kg drum. Doesn’t seem to wash our clothes very well and every other cycle comes up with an error code which basically means the drum is off balance and doesn’t do the spin cycle at the end so you have to put it on a rinse and spin because it doesn’t have a spin only cycle, which is 25 mins. Not to mention a normal 40 degree wash program takes 3 hours! Lastly there is not just a standard 40 program so you have to select a 60 and change all the settings to get the program you want which takes about 15 extra button presses. Thoroughly disappointed. Would not recommend.

Amazing washing machine, washes clothes so much better than old Hotpoint. Writing is a little hard to read but I’m getting tobwhere my favourite settings are. The tune at the end makes me smile!
