    Avoid Hotpoint

    1/5
We’ve had this dishwasher for more than a year and it is quite the worst one we have owned, 4 or 5 over a period of more than 35 years. Firstly, soon after delivery, it failed completely, taking out our house electrics with it. Hotpoint support was abysmal and, in spite of being told exactly what the problem was, it took ages, and repeat visits, to be fixed and even then the “technician” sent out seemed to have little clue as to how the thing was meant to work and left without testing the repair. The build quality is poor with the upper rack transverse rails being loose and coming off when the rack is pulled out. The upper spray nozzle is so flimsy it broke off within a few months. The wash is just about ok as long as the machine is only half full, otherwise it is poor. I would avoid any Hotpoint appliance in future.

Great - if you want a dishwasher for only 1 year.

It worked very well until 3 weeks after the warranty ran out. Then it stopped working altogether. I have Hotpoint's extended warranty. It is still not working after 6 weeks and 4 engineer visits. Hotpoint have not responded to my complaint about this. Buy something else.

Would not risk buying this product

Poor quality Within nearly 2 weeks I needed to refill the salt tank 3 times! Yes 3! The 3rd time it asked me to I smelt like a burning rubber/plastic & electrical burning all at once Clearly a dodgy product & probably a rare occurrence, as I did not get the Hotpoint again I can't confirm this eather way

    Nightmare appliance and customer service

    1/5
Nightmare dishwasher and customer service. After installation the dishwasher didn’t work. Called AO (30mins on hold) to be told because it was plugged in it is now Hotpoints responsibility. After 58 mins on the phone to hotpoint and various telephone instructions they told me to try it over night. Didn’t work again so I called them back. This time it was a 1hr 30min call whilst another engineer tried more tests over the phone. Eventually they admitted defeat and sent an engineer out to take a look. The engineer took one look and said it was broken and to await a phone call from hotpoint. The following day hotpoint called and gave me a refund number to give to AO. I called AO which then took 40 mins to get through. They excepted the refund but needed to check with hotpoint which then took another 30mins. I think I spent around 12 hours waiting for calls, engineers and general messing about with this heap of rubbish. I’m sure not all their machines are that bad but if you’re looking for customer service and confidence buying AO isn’t the place. They should of just swapped it or let me exchange right at the start and then I wouldn’t of been writing this review. Needles to say I bought the new one from John Lewis.

    Utter Rubbish!

    1/5
Needed a new dishwasher after our aging Siemens stopped working. After an internet search (and being very pleased with our Hotpoint washing machine) settled on this one. Arrived well packaged. On the plus side it looks very good and is really quiet when running. BUT.... the baskets are absolutely appalling. 1. Really flimsy design. 2. The top basket has a height adjustable function using a couple of orange tabs at each side. Unfortunately, these release the basket during most cycles which allows the top basket to drop down and jams the spray arm on the plates in the lower one! 3. The prongs which should hold the crockery upright for washing are set far too close together for everyday plates, bowls (e.g. Denby). You can hardly get them in without bending them and then the crockery does not wash as it's too close together! 4. There are no prongs for tall glasses (e.g. high ball or pint glasses) so they fall over constantly during a cycle! Hotpoint customer services simply do not want to know when I complained about the design. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

Unfortunately a possible faulty machine ?

Appear to have broken down after two weeks use, engineer booked to resolve, showed code F02, continuously. AO are sending someone to take a look without any quibble, so follow up service good

    Basic design fault.

Its OK, but none of our (normal-sized) plates fit into the basket without the rotor hitting them. Pretty basic design fault, and to think that someone gets paid well to design these things! Can't be bothered to return, will have to lay plates down and use up half the space. Poor. If AO had a clue about the products they are retailing, this unit would have been discontinued long ago.

We opted for this model as we had our last hotpoint for around 15 years but as in this ever changing world I don't think that this one will get close to that as it seems flimsy and not so well made
