Fantastic all round well priced Dishwasher

    5/5
This a fantastic dishwasher. We decided to change to Hotpoint after our one died after many years. This one has so far been easy to use and stack, and has 7 programme options which are clearly laid out and easy to perform. The time for each programme, from 10 minutes to just over 3 hours, include an Eco-wash, is laid out as you scroll through them, then press start on the one you want. It was easy to fill the salt and rinse aid compartments, and the shelves are fully adjustable too. No problems so far, and all looking very good indeed. The dishwasher is very quiet too, and has clear visual display no the front panel. I would recommend it highly as a first or later purchase.

Robust and quiet but some niggles

    3/5
This dishwasher feels robust and the internal fittings seem good quality. The motor is very quiet. I'm not too sure about the wash quality yet - maybe it's the way we load it, but on the Eco setting there were still food remnants on the odd dish. We are now trying the two Auto settings to see which will be best, which is a shame as I would prefer to use Eco to save water and energy. I haven't tried the 3D option yet. The reason I've given only 3 stars is that in my opinion the small cutlery shelf at the top is next to useless as the cutlery just doesn't come out clean unless there's nothing underneath the shelf. We only use the dishwasher when it is completely full so as to save energy and water. Also the little drop down shelves at the sides are not much use as once they are down you can't fit anything under them other than a small teacup and who uses tea cups these days? The upper shelf has had to be moved to the higher position as my dinner plates (which are small ones) on the lower rack were being knocked by the rotating arm. However I do like the foldable prongs on the lower shelf.

    Well worth the money

Worth spending a bit extra as this dishwasher is super quiet has an adjustable top shelf and fits a whole lot inside. It’s cleans to a sparkle , my only small negative is that the cutlery rack is in the middle not the side so takes up lots of room and the quick wash doesn’t clean as well so I tend to just do the eco cycle before bed as that is 3 hours but uses less water and electricity..... would highly recommend

Great machine if your plates are flat and you wash glasses by hand

    2/5
I have given this dishwasher one star for cleaning well and one star for being reasonably quiet. We had the previous model and that lasted for six years of use (with one repair). We then purchased this newer model that looked very similar but claimed to clean more place settings. It has achieved this by making all of the prongs/slots much narrower. So now it only fits skinny, flat plates that do not have any rim. Furthermore, a change in design of the top drawer means that it is very difficult to load glasses without them tipping over. We curse every time we load it and can't wait for it to fail so that we can buy a different model.

    Avoid Hotpoint

    1/5
We’ve had this dishwasher for more than a year and it is quite the worst one we have owned, 4 or 5 over a period of more than 35 years. Firstly, soon after delivery, it failed completely, taking out our house electrics with it. Hotpoint support was abysmal and, in spite of being told exactly what the problem was, it took ages, and repeat visits, to be fixed and even then the “technician” sent out seemed to have little clue as to how the thing was meant to work and left without testing the repair. The build quality is poor with the upper rack transverse rails being loose and coming off when the rack is pulled out. The upper spray nozzle is so flimsy it broke off within a few months. The wash is just about ok as long as the machine is only half full, otherwise it is poor. I would avoid any Hotpoint appliance in future.

Great - if you want a dishwasher for only 1 year.

It worked very well until 3 weeks after the warranty ran out. Then it stopped working altogether. I have Hotpoint's extended warranty. It is still not working after 6 weeks and 4 engineer visits. Hotpoint have not responded to my complaint about this. Buy something else.
