    Excellent

It looked complicated but in practice it is very simple to operate. The handbook makes it more complicated than need be because it covers different models and the instructions are mixed up. Whoever wrote those needs to be replaced by someone who is competent. But this doesn't detract from the cooker itself.

4 years - Leaks moisture, heating elements blown 3 times and now the fan is broken.

A truly terrible product. Just about to replace ours after 4 years. From day one it has created so much moisture we've had to replace the wood below because it's damaged due to leaking out of the door. Contacted Indesit about this and they sent a strip to attach inside to capture the moisture. Unfortunately this made no difference. To make things worse, i've had to replace the heating element 3 times (£20 from amazon) and now the fan has gone and we've decided to throw the towel in. Do not buy.

After 18 months, the front glass exploded. The oven wasn't being used at the time. People were in the room but luckily not near it when it blew - glass went everywhere. They were obviously very shocked. After a lot of effort e.g. posting on Facebook twitter etc, Whirlpool came out and replaced the glass. If you look this up, it's quite common. The design of the door means that the handle is solely supported by the glass. 15 months after that, the fan element has broken. Unfortunately, the screws on the fan surround have entirely rusted and become part of the surround, so cannot be removed without major work. It's therefore a write-off. A very expensive and frustrating experience. Also, the silver paint on the knobs rubbed off soon after purchase.

Grill Issue but Excellent Service from AO

    1/5
We had recently moved house and the oven in our new house was an Indesit, so when it went wrong we decided to replace like for like. The oven seemed ok but it had one drawback that we noticed after a while. The issue was that the grill turned off and back on all by itself. I checked this twice visually and with the use of the smart meter readout and timed using the oven clock - grill turned on and after 12mins we heard a click (very much like a relay) and the grill turned off, after 4 mins it turned back on, then 7min later again a click and it turned off. The indicator light stayed on all the time. This of course made cooking a meal very difficult and lead to under cooked chops before we realised what was happening. We assumed this was a fault with the oven and so we called AO and they called Indesit and we joined a 3 way phone call. The Indesit engineer stated that from 2019 this was a feature in all Indesit ovens (and I believe he said also in Hotpoint ones as well). He would / could not explain why the design had been changed. Also he could not explain why Indesit had not amended the instruction manual or at least printed an addendum in the 18 months to 2yrs that this change had been made. AO were very good and fully understood why we wished to return the Indesit oven. We ended up buying an AEG oven as a replacement and we were very happy with the deal that we came to with AO over this. We have shopped with AO a number of times and this experience just reinforced how good their customer service is. We would definitely buy from AO again and would recommend them to anybody who asked.

    Don't Waste Your Money

Shoddy product. Rubbish service from Whirlpool / Hotpoint / Indesit. Main oven packed up 5 days outside 12 month guarantee. Whirlpool refused to be flexible and wanted £120 engineer charge for "free" parts warranty. Tried dealing with customer services - waste of breath. Didn't ring back to deal with our complaint. None of our appliances (including previous Indesit) ever packed up in less than 5 years. When we read another AO review that a Hotpoint oven (effectively the same) was blowing elements every two or three years we decided to cut our losses and put the money towards a Zanussi,

    Awful product

    1/5
Absolutely awful purchase. Grill turns off when you’re cooking. You have to wait for it to cool down before you can restart cooking. Engineer called who said it’s an inbuilt design. Nothing in instruction manual to advise this happens. Certainly wouldn’t have bought it if I had known this as it’s impossible to cook with grill. Now trying to return it it’s so bad. Don’t buy!!
