    Wish I hadn’t bought it

I would not have bought this had I seen it before purchasing on-line as it is the cheap cousin only of the Kenwood Chef.....Silver plastic and flimsy by comparison, even the stainless steel bowl is flimsy and bends easily on even minor compression. When used for mixing a cake mix (following all instructions) the mixer-head of the machine moves up and down worryingly, something that is only warned to happen when mixing dough. The anti-splash cover was effective at preventing the ingredients from being thrown out of the bowl with the exception of the only open bit, a gap which allows the ingredients to be fired over the whole machine....what a mess! If I can find out how to return it I will as iI believe that it is extremely expensive for what it is. My ancient hand-mixer is better.

Not a bad stand mixer, just not a great one.

Pro’s - Beats well as long as the butter is not firm - Makes bread dough nice and smooth in a relatively short time - Easy to use. Tools click in easily and it’s a simple dial for speed - Ability to add other tools like a food processor meaning one product does it all, saving space. - Suction cup feet means it doesn’t move when in operation. Simple but highly effective. Cons - Doesn’t beat well if the butter is firm. Not ideal when recipes call for chilled butter - Everything sticks to the utensils meaning you spend ages scraping mixes off of them and it reduces its ability to mix everything thoroughly. - The bowl splash cover is useless as it has a gapping hole at the back plus a like of closable lid on the bit for adding ingredients. This means at speeds higher than 3 results in ingredients firing out of the bowl - The head mechanism is a dirt trap and difficult to clean when you’ve hit max and fired cake mix into the hinge area, made worse by the gap in the bowl cover being at the head hinge end. - Metal bowl marks easily and doesn’t clean well in the dishwasher when having made dough. - Don’t think it will last like my mums Kenwood mixer bought in the 80’s and still going strong. This one feels cheap and the head already bounces up and down when mixing on only its 4th mixing job

If the lid was much more stable it would have been 4 stars but I have to hold it down while mixing because the mechanism lifts up and down quite a bit, which considering its a kenwood product,a name you expect to be good, is very disappointing.

This item came with scratch mark on the bowel, and no mixed jug or the chopper jug only the cake , cream and dough attachments . Was disappointed. And for price at least you would expect a jug with it.

    Okay

It’s a lovely mixer for lighter stuff but when it comes to bread or pizza dough this machine isn’t strong enough and it vibrates so hard you’ll think it’s going to breakdown.

    Great decision to buy

Only used once but quite impressed with end products. I have used a kenwood mixer for 40yrs until it stopped working properly. Big decision to buy another mixer. Decided to go for kenwood prospero . Delighted how lightweight it is re getting in & out of cupboard. First bake turned out fantastic. Lots more to try.

    Great compact mixer

This is the first stand mixer I've had and I chose it because I don't have the space for a larger mixer. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in a similar situation. I'm really pleased with it so far, in the week I've had it I've made Christmas puds, a banana loaf and mashed 1.5 kg of potatoes. Next on the list is the Christmas cake. The "planetary" mixing action seems to work well although I did need to scrape down the potatoes a couple of times whilst mixing As another reviewer said the the top section can move up and down when mixing but this didn't cause me a problem, I find it tends to be most noticeable when the mix is heavy (e.g. Christmas puddings)

Love this mixer. It makes baking so much easier than with a hand whisk and trying to prevent mixture going all over the place!! I did stop it a few times to scrape the bowl and paddle to make sure it was all being mixed, but I expected to do this anyway. The whisk and flat paddle are very close to the bowl surface so mixes well without scratching. Happy with my purchase!!
