I have bought this kettle 12 months ago and 6 months later it has developed paint blister. Smeg were very good and send a replacement kettle immediately. The next new kettle had developed a fault in the first 6 months by which the lid would not open and had to be pressed several times before it popped up. I have yet again contacted Smeg and as the original purchase was still within 12 months I received a replacement kettle within 1 day. Excellent service by Smeg customer services but unfortunately the 3rd kettle has a fault with the lid too, which this time it keeps popping up open. 3 kettles in 12 months, all faulty and now out of original guarantee so stuck with it. Really not worth the money. For this price I would expect top quality product and certainly a longer guarantee period. Very disappointed.

This is the 2nd Smeg we have bought, although we got the slighter better model this time. The last one lasted just over 4 years (the lid came loose). Love the features on this kettle but we are really struggling with the taste. We have followed different instructions online to get rid of the metallic taste and even though it’s now been a couple of weeks since it was delivered, it still isn’t as good as the last one :/ hoping that over time we are able to sort it especially as it isn’t the cheapest kettle to buy!

This is really stylish and heats up quickly, the different temperature settings are also a good addition. The lid is quite difficult to open on pressing, it takes 2-3 attempts each time and has to pressed nearer the back of the top nearest the handle to get the lid to open - disappointing for a product so expensive.

it cost alot of money. have to press the lid to open a few times befor it opens . I spent slot of money and I do not feel I made the right chose. I feel it will not last .

We are still in the process of renovating therefor we have not used this appliance as of yet. However, (as vain as it sounds) it has an aesthetically pleasing look over our kitchen counter along with the toaster. Despite some of the bad reviews we have seen I am hoping that is not the case for us.

This kettle is so much better than what I imagined, it looks amazing in the kitchen. I would definitely pay the price again. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because the handle squeaks when picking up the toaster and when using the kettle.

Good kettle boils as much as you want or as little as you want.quite a heavy kettle. Well pleased.
