Not suitable for bread proving ...

1/5
... only proves for 1 hour max ... no temperature setting or check ... proving is on a button function whereby the turntable can’t be turned off so very restrictive on tray sizes ... proving “tins” must be MICROWAVE and oven proof, so basically you can only prove shaped bread in a basket or on a small round Pyrex glass type tray... A real chocolate teapot this one ... not for serious cooks as advertised - beware!

I love this oven in many ways and have given it a high review on this page. This is my negative review. However, if you use the forced air function as an oven, it is impossible to stop the oven to turn stuff over, without the oven falling back on its very slow preheat function. The is no way to avoid this.

It's decent

I bought this as I do a lot of cooking and baking and was really hoping this would help me. I've tried most of the functions and have been fairly impressed so far. The roasting works well; you input the type of food and weight and it calculates a cooking time for you, and so far it's been pretty accurate. I cooked a beef joint in 30 minutes, and although it's never as good as properly roasting it and was a little dryer, it certainly wasn't bad and it's great if you need a quick meal. The air fryer function is really effective and chips etc have come out crispy. The dough proving works really well and I can prove two loaves of bread at the same time and it takes just one hour. The butter softening is brilliant and does actually soften it without melting. That's all I've tried so far, but I'm pretty impressed with it. For the sake of being thorough, the only thing I've found I don't like so far is preheating the oven function seems to take a long time - probably no longer than a normal oven, but the difference is, it won't let you actually start cooking until it's preheated, and if you happen to wander off and do something else while you're waiting, and it beeps to tell you it's ready to add food and you don't open the door within a minute, it switches off and you have to start the whole preheating time again from the start, no matter how hot it already is. A little irritating, but a small issue in the grand scheme of things.

First impressions

4/5
Quality accessories included (albeit the crisper is slightly warped so may ask for replacement) and nice positive feel to the selector knob and excellent sensitivity when using touch control buttons. Cooking options are vast and the few we've used have proved excellent. A further review in 12 months would be more useful in all fairness!

Outstanding

5/5
While I can relate to some of the issues other reviewers have had (it's not the quietest of machines), it does what it needs to do (and it does it well) :) Absolutely love it. I'm currently in accommodation with no oven and it's been an absolute lifesaver. Like any new appliance, it takes a bit of learning (and adjusting to), but it cooks great. I've used a couple of the special chef programs for things like frozen pizza and it's cooked perfectly. Can be a LITTLE slow to pre-heat up to maximum, but standard 180 doesn't take an age, and the chef programs generally go straight in without requiring pre-heat (e.g. frozen pizza - straight in on the crisper tray, plug in the weight, it calculates the time, you press go, flawless results). Some "back of packet" instructions need a little adjusting: I've noticed the fan/forced air/convection oven at recommended temps tends to take a tiny bit longer than generally recommended (though that could have something to do with the prep), but as with all ovens you play it by ear and leave it in for longer as needed :) Overall, I'm thrilled with it. It does what it needs to do, and then some. Perhaps it doesn't do everything exactly how people are used to, but with a little adjustment and patience it's a great tool for cooking great food (and a REALLY welcome addition to my kitchen, which only had a microwave and a hob before). Looking forward to getting really stuck in with baking etc.

Impressive Combination Microwave/ Cooker

5/5
Its a big beast (it dwarfs my old combination microwave), with a friendly menu, that makes me want to try out all the cooking options it has to offer. The menu is super easy to use on microwaving and oven. (Not had time to try the rest so far). The microwave, though it has a super hot Jet setting, mostly cooks at 750 (which you can adjust down to various lower settings). The touch menu is very sensitive, so I have had to learn to open the door by holding the handle near the clock. Though it is a very heavy machine, my machine slides very easy on my work surface. The control panel hides the top of the interior, but through the bottom half of the door, it is easy to see the dish cooking inside. I am really looking forward to trying out the steam options, but due to personal circumstance will that will have to wait. Yes relatively expensive (so 4 stars, rather than 5 for this great kitchen device). Very shiny inside, with a great self cleaning ability.

Kitchen aid combi oven

3/5
Bought this after reading all the hype and watching video, but so far very disappointed as nothing has been cooked in the pre set menu times . When using as conventional oven if normally cooking on 180 you need to be on at least 200 and cook for a longer time, not impressed.

Great Appliance

5/5
Great looking, very efficient machine!! We were a little anxious of upgrading a normal microwave for this, we’re no Gordon Ramsey’s in this house but it’s straight forward to use, stylish to see and great companion if your not to clever on the cooking front!!! The delivery was spot on, arrived the next day, at the moment, well chuffed great purchase!!!
