My old AEG washing m/c gave me 10 years and 3 months of faultless service, so naturally its replacement was the AEG LFR61844B Big mistake, it's advertised a 8Kg load and 1400 rpm BUT only two programmes achieve that: 1. Eco 40-60 (AEG couldn't explain the 60) and it runs for 3 hours and 25 minutes, who wants their m/c running all that time? My cheaper afternoon electricity only lasts 3 hours. 2. Cottons, the only one worth using for everything, reduce the temperature to suit modern washing powders, select 'Time Save' for 3 or 4 kg loads and hope the 1400 rpm will dry the clothes. * The m/c's worst problem is, should it pick up an unbalanced load for spinning, it does not stop once or more until the load balance is OK like the old m/c, it just ploughs on, banging and crashing so badly it walks the m/c out from under the work surface, risking tearing off supply and waste pipes. * I've now bought 5 rubber wedges fitted under the front AND I stay close by when it's running. I also suspect the claimed 1400 rpm, clothes are not as dry as the old m/c achieved.

The clothes come out wetter after a spin than my previous Miele, but I couldn’t buy another Miele as they have changed the dimensions and the new machines don’t fit inside my cupboard. Also the detergent drawer of the AEG doesn’t come out very far beyond the cupboard shelf compared to the Miele so its hard to get the detergent in. Otherwise happy with the machine so far although there seem to be fewer options than I’m used to but probably due it being a less expensive make.

Overall good washing machine with a good choice of wash cycles especially 20 minute quick wash.It has a powerfull spin even at 1200 and top spin 1400,its 8k load enough for our family of 4.The reason iv'e not given it 5/5 as its quite light in weight compared to our last 2 AEG's that were more sturdier built.

Overall I'm very happy with this machine which was purchased to replace our last AEG that coped with 11 years of heavy family use. The best features in my opinion are; it's robust build, it's programmes (which aren't over complicated, yet provide plenty of flexibility and adaptability), and the 20 minute quick wash which we find is excellent. Equally, the shallow depth of the machine is a real bonus (the dimension listed is a little misleading due to what points it's measured from, and the machine slots in further than similarly spec'd models of other makes). You get a decent user manual (rather than having to go online), and lastly but a little less important, it looks rather better than the usual straight square look. I'm not a fan of touch buttons, I'd rather have buttons that I actually pressed, however, most washing machines seem to have these now. Also, whereas my old AEG had a proper moving latch handle on the door, this machine has the more common "just pull" variety. Not such a quality feel. For these 2 reasons I have dropped a star from my rating. Overall, given the choice to buy again today, I would still buy the same machine.

Such a quiet machine! Love the settings on it, the only setting missing would be a middle of the range wash as there's a 20mins wash and then it goes to 2 hours. However I've happily compromised that for the quality of the wash

Easy to use. Lovely and quiet. Very good value. Like the time save option and the extra rinse. Only thing I would say is negative, is the ridging on the trim around the door - a real dust trap in my utility room. AEG needs to have a smooth surface for a quick wipe down.

Very pleased with washing machine but green bottle was not delivered

Much flimsier than my old LG, but they all seem to be nowadays. Very please with the wash though. Especially the 20 minute one.
