We bought this washing machine in June 23. It worked well until Mid November and stopped spinning. We arranged a visit under warranty and it will take well over two weeks! We should have checked AEG’s reviews before buying. They are shocking. Buyer beware.

This machine has different programs (one per each type of washing) and they are all very easy to use. You also have freedom to select the temperature and spin speed that you prefer for your laundry. The washing time changes, depending on the load and setting parameters. The programs I use the most are cottons and synthetics, usually at 60 °C and spin speed of 800 rpm. This machine goes up to 1400 rpm, but a speed of 800 rpm is good enough to remove most of the water and ideal for everyday laundry. I like the big compartment for detergents and softeners. It is easy to pour the correct amount of detergent without spillage. The adjustable flap is particularly useful for liquids because you can pour the correct amount of liquid detergent. The big front door is great as it makes it very easy to load/unload the laundry. Another added value is that the machine is very quiet with almost no vibrations. Installation took just 10 minutes and all the necessary bits were provided (pipes, bend protector, feet regulator and screws for transport). The product seems very sturdy and I cannot imagine a point of failure. You can appreciate the sturdiness of the hinges. Except the On/off button, the other button are "touch activated" so easy to wipe and waterproof. The door to the draining filter can be conveniently removed so you can actually place a container and avoid water spillage on the floor. It looks easy to clean. I do not like much the black geared plastic on the main door as it would be less easy to wipe. I am impressed with this washing machine.

This is my 3rd appliance bought through AO - and their service levels have impressed each time! Whatever you are doing, don't change it... We decided on the AEG ProSteam primarily for its Hygiene program, as we have a newborn baby girl. The program itself is a lengthy one, but more than happy with the results and the peace of mind this function adds to our washing experience. The ECO program is lengthy as well under a full load - so have only used it once. We mainly use the MixLoad program which is a very handy 69 minutes. Sometimes it feels like short programs just don't clean enough - especially the 30-min program we had on our last machine. This length feels as though you are getting a proper deep clean with enough soak time - and the results certainly speak for themselves. This will be our go-to program for most washes. The 20-min 3kg program I can see the benefit of when you need something done in a hurry or when the garments are not soiled but need a refresh - like those seasonal clothes that have been dragged out of storage, or the spare towels brought out for guests that could do with a quick wash. The Steam program is great. It is only 25 minutes long and is primarily used when your clothes have come off the line dry and are ready for ironing. This quick function leaves your clothes lovely and soft, with a good 70%+ of the wrinkles removed. We have a really good steam iron system anyway, but this will help those households with the more conventional steam irons and garments that wrinkle quite badly and is tough to iron out. Noise-wise, if you ignore the water when it fills the drum (which is noisy no matter what machine you have), the wash cycle is near silent - the permanent magnet motor system does a great job of eliminating the whining noise as the drum rotates. Same too with the spin cycles - if you close the door to the laundry room you will be hard-pressed to know the machine is running. AEG has brought out a great product in the 7000 series - and you can purchase with absolute confidence knowing it is money well spent.

Absolutely amazed by the washing machine. This must be one of the quietest on the market. We could not wait to test it once we installed it and did a 20 minute fast run, we did not even notice it was working apart from beeps at the end telling you it was done. With my last one I used to plan when it goes on not to wake up others, this one can run in the middle of the night without issues. We did three loads on the first day using different load sizes and it adapts to it by shortening the time. We also tried the steam refresh programme and this one is a big win because most of our clothes actually needs a refresh rather than full wash since we work from home. A huge help. Make sure you got a set of tools available because they provide a tool but they missed the size for one of the screws and you will need your tool box. Other than that, I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. If you are sweating like some members of our little family the steam refresh will not really help removing the smell, but it is ideal to refresh the items you had in your wardrobe for longer periods.

The AEG ProSteam LFR71864B 8th Washing Machine 1600 rpm is an excellent machine, which so was about to send back because I couldn’t get it to spin the bath towel, which we used as a test. The instructions are basic and not very helpful. For example, I only discovered, after several washes, the cool Options button, which enables a Rinse only option or a Spin only option, which is particularly helpful when you wash highly absorbent items, such as dog cushion and bath mat! After washing the items in the mixed wash, I still had to select the spin option to remove the water the items had absorbs during to mixed load programme. Now that I’ve worked out how to work the machine properly, I’m delighted with the washing machine. The customer service before and after the sale has been excellent!

Right amount of programmes and can adjust time and spin speed on some of them. The 1600 spin does not dry the washing as effectively as my previous AEG 1600 spin washing machine which is disappointing as the spin speed was one of the reasons i purchased this model.

We have had it a week and are very pleased with it. It fits the space left by the old washing machine and is soo much quieter. It has some great functions such as the 20 min quick wash.

Lovely product, easy to work, great selection of different programmes, easily removable dispenser drawer, great gizmo when cleaning filter to ensure water doesn't escape all over floor, and extremely reasonable compared to other brands. Really happy with purchase.
