I feel Nest has not done their research for the UK market with the power requirements for this is not he norm in the UK for doorbell chimes and transformers. Nests own community site/forum has a long list of people trying to figure out how to get this to work. Most doorbells in the UK are 8V or maybe 12V but Nest requires a 16V Chime and transformer. You may be able to find a 16V chime but trying to find a 16V transformer is very hard to get hold of. Alternatively you can use a 24V transformer but then it’s near impossible to find a chime that takes 24V. So this is not a good first impression of the product.

This is the first time I have had a video doorbell and I have to say I am so happy we have one - I couldn't be without it now. Our Electrician came to install it as we didn't have a pre-existing doorbell but I guess it took him about 30 mins to wire it all up and connect to the mains. From there the step by step guide which Nest give you was very simple to follow. I downloaded the App to my mobile and from there I could see who approached my door by the phone alerting me - I can be anywhere for this to work. If a delivery person rang the bell I can decide to either speak to them from my phone and advise them where to leave the package etc. This is brilliant especially from a security point of view, I have teens in my house and I am not 100% confident about them opening the door when I am out so it is really good for me to be able to control the situation. The quality of the vision is exceptional, even at night time I can see the outside of my house as the camera can turn 160°. It will alert me if it picks up sound, motion or somebody approaching - all of these can be muted individually or altogether if I want quiet time. I love the slim design - it looks really good, it is so easy to install and I feel safer. My property is more secure and i would highly recommend you getting one.

kept cutting out at first had to buy a wifi booster but now works fine

Nest hello has continuous recording as long as it’s online which is much better than the ring doorbell. Easy to set up. Only issue is I’ve had to buy a better router to get continuous connection. It automatically reconnects though which is great. I also used a plugin transformer so didn’t have to pay to get it wired into my consumer unit

Really like this, it’s so good to be able to speak to whoever is knocking on the door while you’re not home. The camera is great as an additional security aid.

Good design and is a good modern and for those looking for security presence this is highly recommended.

Really well made and solid. Needs professional fitting but as is then wired needs no maintenance. Great picture solid build.

Excellent build quality, with alot of tech crammed into it's small size. I bought a separate 18v power supply, be nice if AO offered one as an accessory at check out to power it with. Works seamlessly with a google home hub, displaying the camera all day long if you wish, otherwise it will display camera as soon as someone presses button. It has great night vision and reports motion when the neighbours cat passes by. All google devices like minis and homes, give an audible message when someone rings the bell, so no need for a separate chime. AO were a pleasure to deal with, and price matched a cheaper competitors price ;O))
