Seems good but lacking a quick hot wash.

    3/5
This seems a good washing machine (after owning for a few weeks). It is a shame there is not a quick wash that is hotter than 30deg, and it is a shame that the quickest hot washes (~1h10min) have quite slow spin cycles. The dryer has quite a loud wine noise and doesn't get clothes completely dry, but it is still very useful in the winter as it means clothes dry hanging in the house in a day rather than a few days.

Cycle times too long and drying unreliable

    3/5
A standard mixed load on 40 degrees is 2hrs 55minutes! Previous machine was 1hr 30 mins, so I could get 4 loads done in a day, now I’m down to 2!! The drying function is unreliable and often has to go on a second time (after 3 hours washing and 3 hours drying!). I’ve tried all sorts but, after 18 months, I give up! I’ve ordered a new machine that does quicker washes and has a half load option. (This machine has ‘mini load’ but no idea what that means!)

    Overly Complicated

    3/5
Nice looking machine and does work well, however, it is overly complicated to use, with very long wash programmes and limited drying times. Instruction booklet needs to be simplified and offer better alternative programmes without having a 7 hour wash/dry cycle for cottons. No one has that time to spend on 1 cycle !

    A Bit Disappointed

Not really tested everything on this yet which is why only 3 stars and that's generous I think - due to these other comments. Spins clothes well, so not so soggy when you take them out. Don't want to use combined wash & dry options either - too expensive to do that - so at least I figured out how to do a wash only. But, there arent too many good options just for washing - there is no 60 minute wash, as far as I can see - only a very quick one (15 minutes I think?) which I cant see working very well to get things clean. Also cant raise the temp from 40 to 60 .The standard programmes seem to take a long time as well -about 1.5 hours on a wool wash and ages for just a rinse and spin. Can't really tell if clothes are any cleaner than my 14 year old indesit got 'em - but I haven't done any whites yet. Also - I used a lot of conditioner (to the maximum fill level) but clothes did not come out smelling particularly as if I'd used any, whereas on my old machine they did! The dryer only option I haven't dared try yet - I use it for towels only - as it is so complicated to fathom out -guess I'll have to call Hotpoint to talk me through it when I do decide to use it So far- I can't say I'm particularly happy this purchase really, I just hope it improves.

End of a 50+ year love affair

    3/5
From the First twin tub when I was youngster till now when I am in my 60’s, my family had always had Hotpoint washing machines, and latterly washer/dryers for me,so it is with a heavy heat that I have to say I am truly disappointed. The length of time for a wash is more than twice that of previous machines - with one wash & dry programme taking a ridiculous NINE hours. The Dryer is disturbingly loud, making the pipes in the house knock and bang - my neighbours are not amused - and the dry only feature sometimes leaves the items hot and steamy. Called Hotpoint and apparently the noise is ‘normal’ for newer energy efficient machines (remember the 9 hour wash/dry programme?) and I was asked why I used the dry only feature - had to use it when the clothes came out hot and steamy after being on a wash and dry cycle!! If asked I wished to return this machine I’m afraid I would.

    Just average

Washing machine works okay but I've found the instructions confusing. To use the dry only function you have to set the machine to wash and then tell it not to wash. Pretty noisy too. Lots of programmes won't do a 9kg load.
