    Utterly disappointed & regret purchase

    1/5
The worst combination of inflexible programs! I could honestly cry. What washing machine does not allow you to choose just a spin cycle at maximum spin? Answer…This one! If my washing gets rained on , I have the option of a 55 MINUTE Rinse & Spin or Spin & Drain which just drains the water out! The machine controls you, not the other way around. I like the idea of a green option using less water but this will not allow a 1400 spin and the Fast Wash only has a max temp of 30 degrees. Half the programs don’t recommend the max load and more than half won’t allow a max spin. I’m pegging out washing that feels like my first ever washer’s 800 rpm spin. If we are wanting people to avoid using a tumble dryer to save our planet which I fully support then let us spin our clothes at 1400 if we want to. Sadly the customer only finds this out following the purchase when the details of the programs arrive with the machine. I loved my last Hotpoint as it did exactly what any normal person wants: a reasonable length of wash at our desired temperature with the option of a separate spin if required ie. If something got wet or we had hand washed a jumper. I LOVED my last last Hotpoint with a 1400 spin it spun the clothes much dryer than this utterly disappointing machine. Who on earth came up with this model? Hotpoint, what were you thinking? I can’t believe the other reviews can be from this model unless the reviews are from people who put washing straight into the tumble dryer. Can’t fault AO.com , they were great as usual.

Solid, reassuring and feature filled with a couple of minor drawbacks

    4/5
This is a great, feature-filled high-capacity washing machine. This was an upgrade from a basic model for me but I think the features were worth the (only) slightly higher price. I like the added features of ActiveCare, Steam Clean, Final Care (which keeps the washing rotated after the wash to stay fresh) and smart durations depending on washing weight (although this seems to only be a feature on Eco washes). The only point of frustration here is that the touted "ActiveCare" feature is only available in a few select modes. Hotpoint states that AciveCare uses a way of watering down the detergent and clever drum movements to both protect garments while proving a superior wash. Sounds nifty, but in reality this feature can't be switched on in cotton, synthetics or eco mode. Essentially the big three. There are lots of modes for all types of washing. One that is new to me but much appreciated is "bed and bath", which gives the hard-wearing fabrics of towels and bedding a thorough thrashing. Reassuringly refreshed. I didn't find the washing machine to be as quiet as some others have suggested. Perhaps it's due to incorrect levelling, but it's low hum is quiet loud when on its spin cycle. Perhaps a shame for some as this unit is marketed as having a quiet direct drive motor. Its build quality feels solid, and as far as washing machine aesthetics go, it looks fine. The black door adds a couple of points of style and makes your washing machine look like it's behind tinted windows, like a VIP in the back of a blacked-out motorcade. Okay, maybe that last one was a bit over the top.

    Poor options

Unlike old machine, this one does not give a straightforward way to wash clothes at variable temperature with the fastest spin. Not obvious before u buy it. Very poor - almost sent it straight back but too much hassle. Now having to set timer on phone to intercept the cycle & manually switch it to full 1400 spin.

    UTTERLY disappointing

I am SO disappointed with this washing machine and I wish I'd never bought it. It recommends that you use the eco cycle which takes 4 and a half hours so it literally takes half a day to do a single load. I've also used the machine about 10 times now and of those cycles I've had to re-rinse and spin the load 4 times as my clothes were sopping wet. I have used Hotpoint products for years but this machine is just awful.

    Great machine

A great and SILENT machine. Not had this kind of drive before and am very impressed. The quick help instructions are handy until you get a feel for it an particularly handy to have steam cycle too. Energy and water consumption will be lower, plus there's ample space in the 10kg drum to keep clothes tumbling rather than packed in the old 6 we had meaning a fresher more intense wash.

    Great buy

Great washing machine, lots of settings but not over complicated - all settings can be put on fast setting. 1 hour wash at any temp at 1200 spin. Not loud and not much movement when spinning. Also has digital countdown.

    Simply perfect

Love the look of the machine, the quieter noise level and programs available. That’s why I went for this machine. Our last machine (for a rented house) was a 9kg and this 10kg (our first self owned machine) fits an extra set of bedding which is really handy. Sleek look overall and great range of adaptable programs. I often hand wash my organic wools but like to have the ability the do a simple spin with low RPM. This is just what I was looking for and I’m really happy with it.

Happy Lady, Loving Her New Machine.

This machine is wonderful, the dumb is huge and I'm able yo fit so much in and still have a hood amount of space left. The quietness when on is amazing, even it's spin cycle can go unnoticed while one. Clothes come out clean and practically dry due to the spin cycle.
