Faulty within 1 week of delivery

Within 5 days of delivery developed a fault that meant it would not spin and stopped with water and clothes trapped inside. The Hotpoint engineer advised replacement parts needed so will have been without a washing machine for a week. I would not recommend.

    Bit noisy, not the best

    2/5
It's okay, washes standard, but stuck with it so not much I can do till it breaks down next . But it it very noisy when starting into the setting , clunking and when it spins it's noisy too. Not as good as the bosch washing machine I purchased before. Wish I would of listened to that one review with a poor rating telling about the noises it made.

Not as quiet as we'd hoped.

Still getting used to the new machine. In the main all seems good, plenty of programs to suit our needs but compared to our last machine it seems very noisy. We're still playing with different settings but I was expecting a modern machine in this price range to be much quieter.

    Washing Machine Revew

It's a good machine, however there is a lack of a 1h cycle, the 30min quick wash is OK for low levels of dirt. The other thing about it I'm less impressed with is the spin speed, it's max 1400 but most programmes use a slower speed. This leaves the washing wetter than our old machine and harder to dry.

Check the wash cycle options suit your needs

I'm still getting used to the machine, but there doesn't seem to be much choice for shorter washes, with decent spin, especially on a full load. I don't think my patience or wallet could take a 4 hour wash for a full load at 40 degrees and 1400 spin. I just assumed that wash cycle choices were pretty universal, but they're not. You can reduce the time by choosing the Rapid/Green button, but then the spin speed is also automatically reduced, so you need to then spin and drain separately at the end, unless you want soggy clothes, which I guess is not a big deal in the scheme of things. That said, the machine is quiet and big enough and it does clean clothes, so it 'does what it says on the tin.' I guess it's a matter of finding the new sweet spot of temperature, load, spin and washing time for our needs. I probably need to lower my expectations or maybe consider raising my electricity bill a bit.

A very smart machine that was good value for money. It has lots of functions which I am still getting used to and a fairly quiet spin.
