We've had this machine for about 3 1/2 years now. It did seem to be efficient, is generally effective at drying albeit a little slow, however the unit constantly leaked hot/moist air from the back panel and has gotten increasingly noisy and started destroying internal parts (Impeller splines). The quality under the hood just isn't really there. Wish I'd gotten something with more longevity.

Terrible product. Ruined multiple bath towels by catching the threads. AO wouldn’t help me as it was over 30 days since we purchased product. Hotpoint sent an engineer out who told me this is a known issue and it’s a manufacturing fault. His ‘resolution’ was to file down the jaggy part of the machine which I agreed to, however, tumble dryer is ruining more towels again. Do not buy this product!

Arrived and never worked. Ended up returning for a vented one.

Disappointed with this tumble dryer. I realise that dries differently to conventional condenser dryers but very slow to dry clothes and takes hours to start heating up. Basic self explanatory settings on the machine but even on synthetics & gentle still managed to shrink my cotton pyjamas. Goodness knows how on cool tumble. Really can’t get on with this heat pump dryer at all.

Unfortunately there was a problem with the individual machine we received, it took forever to dry 2 sheets and some pillowcases and they were still damp at the end of it plus there must have been something sharp somewhere in the drum as it pulled lots of threads and left tiny holes all over the bedding items. The AO staff were brilliant in helping to sort the issue and we opted for a replacement but went for a vented dryer instead.

Not a great dryer. There’s no timer so you have to choose a drier setting eg cupboard dry but that doesn’t always work. The dryer sometimes stops mid cycle for no reason. It. Does take an age eg 2.5 hours for a duvet and one pillow but that’s the downside of saving energy .After 20 months It has now developed a really noisy screeching sound so it’s time to contact Hotpoint. Wouldn’t buy again.

Even dry throughout however, no display saying how long is left etc. Takes a long time to dry

Dries really well but sometimes it catches a bit of thread and can damage the clothing a bit, not a huge deal for me personally as it rarely happens but might want to avoid putting ur favourite socks in there.
