Does what it says on the tin.

Great product, easy to install, and does exactly as the description says. The only quibble i had with it is the power unit and control board is housed on a separate panel for transport and it is quite fiddly to get it attached properly once on the wall, it slides under 2 screws but the initial push feels like it might break it. That is the only reason for the loss of a star i would have gone to 4.5 but it won't allow me too.

Does a great job if you don't mind the noise

4/5
Really love the aesthetics of this cooker hood, it looks great in our kitchen. It is far superior to the last one we had, which was a cheap brand. The fact that the windows don't stream up whilst cooking is amazing! The only gripe is the noise, I could not believe the sound it made the first time I turned it on and that was on the lowest setting! Turn it on full blast and it's like a jet engine. I will stick with it though due to the performance.

Looks attractive but beware!

On paper, this hood ticked many boxes (size, style, colour, noise rating, extraction power etc). When it arrived, the pack does not contain an extractor hose and clips which you need whether you are ducting out or recirculating. I contacted Hotpoint and they gave some feeble reason for not including it but said it was readily available at any hardware store. Not true. I tried Homebase, B&Q, Wickes, screwfix, a local hardware store and a plumbers merchants. All had the item in 100mm and 120 mm. this extractor needs 150mm which is non-standard. I managed to persuade a trade-only kitchen company to sell me one for £24. I also had to pay a sheet metal company to cut part of the chimney which was too long for my low ceiling. Looks great now but cost a lot more and involved a lot of additional chasing parts! Think carefully about being able to get the parts before you buy this.
