Fantastic Multi cooker

5/5
I was originally looking for just a simple rice cooker for my wife but the good ones seemed a bit pricey for only one function. It made much more sense to spend a little more and get a multicooker, and after some research the Tefal came out as being one of the best for the price. I've so far used it to cook basmati rice, chicken byriani, spicy vegetables and fish. The controls take a little getting used to and the included instructions are in very small print. The default settings for standard things like rice or baking vegetables generally work OK but you need to monitor and adjust timings to get the particular results you want e.g. I like my veg nice and soft but my wife likes then crunchy, so less cooking time is required. The cooking chamber is nice and big and feels very solid. It would have been nice to have some handles that could be clipped on to help with lifting it out of the cooker. Cleaning is easy and most parts will go in the dishwasher (or wash by hand). The sturdy handle means the cooker can be placed anywhere there is a mains socket. Unfortunately the mains lead is quite short, but is a standard 'kettle lead' type so can be replaced. There a many features I've yet to try but this is a great cooker. You just need to spend a little time learning how to get the best results for you.

Possibly a good machine ruined by a terrible recipe book.

3/5
We could not decide whether to give this a rating of 1 star or 5 stars - this may or may not be an excellent machine, but the recipe book is so poor that we are still struggling to cook anything edible in it. We tried the lamb pilaf recipe which was awful. We could not try the French apple batter pudding raved about in the Tefal 10 in 1 cooker as this recipe was not included, so we tried one of our own which was a disaster. Astonishingly there is no recipe for a stew, so after experiments by trial and error we were finally able to make a stew which was excellent! There is a recipe for penne bolognese which worked on the third try after adjusting ingredients, and the recipe for meatballs was mediocre. We will keep trying as the eventual beef stew really was excellent, and the machine itself seems good.

A wonderful multi cooker that heat up very quickly I have made different meal using the different options great for slow cook, stew, stir fry and steam However the cake I tried was too dry as it needed a lot of time to bake. The bowl would have been perfect with a handle as it's not easy to empty while hot this is the reason I gave it a 4 stars The bowl is large and deep with a good capacity I highly recommend this product for it's quality.

Super quiet and easy way to make good grub

4/5
We've had a slow cooker sitting on in our cupboard for over a year now and used it a handful of times. Each time I looked up at the ceiling in a frustrated rage wondering why I bothered with this stupid thing. I was doomed to believe that this was the best one of these contraptions could do. Boy was I wrong. Along comes the Tefal 45 in 1 multicooker. I've been playing around with this for about a week now and I can safely say it's probably going to replace a good chunk of the pans. At first glance, it's very confusing. There's no real 'quick guide' for this and I spent a while trying to figure out what half of the buttons did. Once you've got past that, you'll wonder what you ever did without the thing. Not only will it make your dinner, but this thing also makes cakes, porridge, yoghurt (don't ask me how), baby food, risotto and bread. I've no idea how it manages this but it's quite impressive really. Major pros: - It's really, really quiet. I was cooking some mince in it and could hear a thing when the lid was closed. - Delay timer. That option is the thing of busy people's dreams. Throw stuff in it, walk away, come home and BAM. Food's done. - It actually saves on washing up. Who'da thunk it? Throw everything in that one pot instead of multiple ones on a stove and that's it. As someone who *hates* doing this dishes, this is all I could ever need in my life. Things which could make it amazing: - A touch screen would really make this much easier to use. - Some way of draining/lifting out the cooking bowl would be ideal. - Not being so big. This is all very dependant on the size of your kitchen but, for me, it takes up so much space on our worktops.

Quick , easy and useful kitchen appliance!

4/5
So I have had this just under a week and I can honestly say I'm glad I have discovered it! I'm a bit of a slow cooker fan ( I have 2 ! ) but this may of just replaced one if not 2 of them! So to start I tried porridge, while I was busy getting lunches ready and making sure children were all ready this little beauty cooked my porridge with no fuss at all and kept it warm so I could eat when I wanted with only a bowl to clean which by the way is amazingly easy to clean! Next I did a beef casserole , chucked it all in and used the preset time suggested, near the end I popped the steamer bowl on and steamed some cauliflower pulled it all out and served. Next I did vegetable soup , nice soft veg ready for me to blend. Spaghetti bolognaise went down a treat! No burning , no sticking and very tender chicken when I did chicken casserole in an hour. One pot wonder in no time! I am looking forwards to trying out some of the sweet dishes / cakes too. For me it lost one star on the recipie and instruction book, there could of been so much more information on basic recipes and ideas. Also the big pot could do with a handle to lift it out with and inside possibly a little pot to collect condensation that doesn't escape out of the vent. Overall an all round useful machine that with a bit of time and practise could be my most used item in the kitchen. Would recommend this to family and friends.

Good cooker Saves on using loads of pans!

4/5
So far so good. Instruction manual could be a written a bit better as it is rather complicated to understand. Loads of different functions to use which will and has been trial and error to get right to make meals and use the cooker. Ive used the dessert function and baked a cake which came out perfect no burning or sticking to the side. Which is brillaint! Using the fry bake and stew function to make sweet and sour chicken pasta bake. Winner with the kids. No need to use 3 pans either like usual. Just one bowl to wash up. The bowl is really easy to clean and is non stick so everything comes off with one wipe. Ive made rice pudding using the recipe book which is included. It makes no noise except the beeps when finished. So can cook at night without waking the whole house up! The keep warm function is great for making porridge and having it warm and ready when needed. I like how I can cook all in one go (spaghetti Bolognese bake) without having to precook the pasta. I have yet to use any of the other functions but I'm sure as the days go on I will be using most of them. A few down points hence only 4 stars. Bit misleading saying 45 in 1. Yes it does have loads of different ways to cook stuff but it is just one machine with different functions would say 10 to be honest. No handle to get bowl out to serve. I know it says use oven gloves but would be easier to have something to lift out while it is hot. Other than that i think it is a bit hit for our kitchen to use. Saves on electric!
