we expected Smeg to be a high quality item but it doesn't seem to be. We never actuality got it installed as it was damaged on delivery, but the quality is not what expected. The enamel is scratched and looks to be very easy to scratch so can't imagine this wearing very well when cleaning etc. The control knobs look very plastic and one was broken due to poor packaging. None of the cast iron pan supports lay flat on the hob, they all rock. Seems like Smeg are trading on the name with a very poor quality product.

Great product but AO lost request for installation so item is still in wrapping and not being used.

Love it but the knobs are tricky to use and rings don’t always stay lit. I suspect it’s a safety feature.

We had a very very old gas job that needed replacing and the Smeg five ring job was the only one that can close it size. Really nice product, looks smart and does the job. Only criticism would be that it isn’t obvious which dial relates to which ring… that can get a little confusing.

The hob is very sturdy and looks well made, the colour is beautiful just what I wanted to compliment my cream cottage effect kitchen, I cannot comment on its performance as yet as it hasnt been fitted so hence the 4 star rating.

Good solid bars. Rather pricey but good fit

Lovely hob with conveniently situated rings and loads of power. Looks cool too. So much better than my old 4 burner Bosch hob! Another plus was that it fit perfectly well into the worktop without the need to enlarge the hole. There are a couple of drawbacks hence 4 stars: I find the minimum heat on each hob to be just a little too high for comfortable simmering. I've found it possible to achieve a lower heat by moving the knob past the maximum point, as if you're about to switch the hob off. So you can get a lower simmer heat, but this is a bit fiddly.

A very stylish product delivered on time works well fits in smashing.
