The delivery was delayed since my property was new built. However, when I used it for the first time there was a smell of burning plastic. I had to look a lot and found 4 plastic pieces inside the toaster attached in the rods. It was very hard to remove those and took a lot of time. Had to use small and sleek knife to cut it off and taking it out was another big task. After all the struggle when I switched on ?? again. Then I found another 2 inside which was even harder to access and taking it out. After a long time and hard work without removing the screws I got rid off the plastics. Now it’s working fine. I wonder whether it’s a mistake or it’s how it is?

One use and element broke meaning toaster no longer toasted. I’ve never spent so much on a toaster and never had one break so quickly. Smeg warranty covered but took 2 weeks to send replacement. New one is here, hope this one lasts. It is extremely beautiful though and I do still love it. If only the quality of product matched the quality of image.

Lovely to look at Browns more on one side than the other No idea which side is the bagel one unless I stick my finger in and see if I burn!!! But it does look good!

Fabulous looking toaster It’s functions not so There is no carriage/bread lift, to check how your toast is doing, to check you have to use the stop button the only way, so That stops the toasting completely, if it need more toasting the cycle will start again so yo need to then guess when it’s done. Toasting warburtons wholemeal you have to set the dial at least 5.5, it only goes up to 6. There is a little bit more function, but all that is is you have to turn the dial past 1 to a toast sign, other toasters out there have a convenient button to press. For the money this toaster has some basic Functions missing that you get on much cheaper toasters. But it does look fabulous.

Looks lovely; good toasting- not the quickest but improves after initial toast when warmed up. Lost a star for not being able to lift mid cook to monitor browning level. Happy with product.
