I already have a number of different items from the Hive product range, including one Hive View Camera. I liked that first one, so bought this second one. I like the quality feel and design, it's very discrete in the bronze/black model (that depends on your overall colour scheme, as, if you had an all-white kitchen, for example, then the other colour would be better. I found it simple to set up, and, once 'found' by my phone, it hasn't gone off-line. Should you need to reset your broadband router at any time, or you experience a power cut, it soon 'reappears' in the system. The video quality - live, or playback - is excellent, and you can adjust the detection modes to cover most contingencies. I don't subscribe to 30 days' video storage, but it's there if you want to pay for it. Like a few things in the Hive range, it's a learning curve with the support team, as they're not always on top of things when there's a problem. However things are improving, and there is always an offer to assist, if they see a post outlining any issues. The camera is supposed to link with other Hive products - for example, you are supposed to be able to tell it (via 'Actions') to turn a light on when it detects motion, but I still find some of this flakey in practice, and not fully reliable. It can make use of other third-party applets, like IFTTT, and I've found these to be more reliable than native Hive links. The only slight 'annoyance' is that, while like all the various Hive products, you can see and control them from your mobile, and which includes being able to 'see' your camera view live or recorded, this latter doesn't happen on your desktop or laptop. You aren't currently able to monitor their output without your phone. I use an Android phone and the camera, and indeed all the Hive products, work seamlessly with this OS. Final advice, though - check prices daily, as they vary quite considerably. Personally I don't think the camera, good as it is, merits the top price you'll see. Aim for at least a third off, then it starts to become viable.
