Burley Egleton 170R-SS Log Effect Inset Fire With Remote Control - Brushed Steel

I'm so glad I bought this fire, it looks great, gives off a lovely cosy light and is nice and quiet. The main reason I bought this one was for the thermostat which is great. I can keep my living room nice and cosy all evening without having to heat the whole house. Would definitely recommend.

The fire was delivered on time and since installed has brightened up our lounge with the fire effects. We've tested the heating but have not needed to use it yet - but the lighting on its own seems to warm the room up! The loose front seems a bit strange, but stays where it's put and looks fine.

Burley Egleton 170R-SS Log Effect Fire This is a beautiful fireplace which looks impressive as a focal point of a lounge, measuring at 59.5 inches in height, nearly 50 inches in width and 17 inches in depth, I think this will look fabulous in many different sized fireplaces. At first I was slightly worried it looked too small, but having used it for a week, I couldn't imagine anything else in its place. Coming straight out of the box, it is very easy to assemble it is practically ready to go from unpacking. Installation of this fire was easy and straightforward. Everything that you require is within the box my first initial impression was how stunning it was, a modern looking fire with a slight classic twist. the brushed steel surround, against the black inserts compliment each other, and are very eye catching. To operate this fire is very simple, it is a simple press button on the supplied remote control and there is a dial on the front of the fire to adjust the temperature to your specification. This fire has a great performance for quickly heating up my lounge, so I am very happy with the actual performance of the fire. my preference is on the highest setting as it warms up a chilly lounge quickly. It is faster and less costly than central heating. The heat output is 1200 watts which is perfect for an averaged sized room. This fire can only be operated by the small remote control, which only has two buttons upon it. One is power for on/off and the other controls the light, the illusion of the moving fire is on the second press and the third will allow you to turn the heat blower on. You sometimes have to press quite firmly on the controller though. There is a hidden on/off power switch behind the grate/ ash pan. The fire can be used on a no heat option, for just the log effect, which having it switched on I feel that it gives a lovely ambient glow to the room and a lovely focal point. The fire is absolutely gorgeous to look at. Suggestions for slight improvements: If I were to suggest any improvements for this fire, it would be to have power buttons for controlling the fire actually on the fire ~ the remote control is a great feature but if this were to get misplaced or break your fire is rendered useless until you can get a replacement. The second improvement would be a way to secure the ornamental grate and the ash pan ~ perhaps make these magnetic if possible. I admit that it has only fallen over once and it is a small bonus that you can choose to have one of both of them on display should you wish. None of the improvements that I have suggested would alter my view of this is a fabulous fire and i would recommend this to anyone who was looking. Ideally i would give this 4.5 / 5
