Questions & Answers

Features we love

Sleek and stylish

The stunning form factor of this TV means it’ll look fantastic at the heart of your entertainment centre. The minimalistic bezel and sleek design allow it to fit effortlessly into any room. Plus, it’ll allow you to enjoy better viewing from more angles, so colours and shades stay vibrant and distortion free.

Remarkable colour and contrast

Open your eyes to a world of colour thanks to spectacular OLED technology. Each pixel is able to replicate millions of shades, highlighting amazing details. The contrast makes the vibrant colours pop, and brings the picture to life in a way no other LED TV can. So you can enjoy your films with breath-taking visuals, putting you at the heart of the action.

Colour that really pops

Dolby Vision HDR takes viewing to the next level, delivering incredibly vivid, life-like colour. By adjusting the brightness of colours depending on the scene, it provides subtler gradients and more detail, so every frame is super-dynamic. This means a more realistic picture onscreen, so you’ll feel more immersed in what you’re watching.

Professionally tuned speakers

The speakers in this TV have been specially tuned by Onkyo. Their dedicated audio engineers have made sure that the built-in Onkyo speakers deliver clear and precise sound for both on-screen dialogue and music. No matter what you’re watching, these speakers will really bring your shows to life.

Use your smart speaker to change channel

This TV is compatible with your Amazon Alexa smart speaker. By connecting to your Echo or Echo Dot, you can change channel, adjust the volume, or even turn the TV off completely using just the sound of your voice. Rather handy if the remote goes missing!

Not the smoothest user interface

3/5
I have had this Television for under month and it’s not the smoothest experience and gets worse when using the Netflix app. Found myself trying it with a wired network connection to see if it was my internet but didn’t notice a difference. Had the a blank screen a couple of times with audio and the top quarter of the screen snowy and the rest black but still audio output.

Toshiba OLED

Really impressed with this TV. Didn't know Toshiba made OLED TV's. The quality is amazing.

Good but not Great - sort Dolby Vision

4/5
As there are no professional reviews of this product I took a risk and bought it based on the fact that all panels are made by LG. AO service was excellent, the TV arrived on time and I have no complaints. The TV is large and really needs two of you to unbox and set up physically but you can just about manage on your own. The TV looks great even when off, nice low slung screen with minimal beezle, anti-reflective coating is quite noticeable when the TV is off but I don't see this as an issue (some people do apparently) It comes with 2 remote controls, 1 full size, 1 scaled down version - not sure what the point of the small one is but maybe it suits some. The remotes are the 1st negative, very cheap feeling, very plastic, sharp edges - not what you expect from a top of the range TV Connections were very simple, note this TV does not have any clever system to hide the cables and the side entry cables can possibly be seen from the front if they are not particularly flexible. Set-up went very smoothly and I was up and running in about 5 minutes, I have 4 external sources - Fire TV, Virgin, 4K player, PS4 and am using ethernet connection. A software update happened automatically after a minute or so but did not take long. I have now had the TV for 3 weeks or so and have watched multiple sources and tried multiple settings. 1st thing to note is that this TV does have lots of adjustable picture settings and we all have different viewing preferences. A basic summary would be that this TV works really well with good quality input sources and even leaving every setting as factory standard worked well to my eyes. Gaming using the PS4 Pro was very good, the TV automatically switch to Picture Game mode which disabled most user settings, I presume for reduced lag - which is what gamers want - looked very good to me and was very responsive. Only thing to bear in mind is that a lot of people don't just play games on a games system so if you are watching a movie for example you need to manually switch picture more. Watching sports and the TV switched to Sports mode (I didn't change it and wasn't sure how it knew) sports mode was good but I tweaked it a bit in terms of colour. However it is only good with full HD or 4K source - so Sky HD or BT HD/4K, anything of lower resolution was not good at all. Watching movies in Cinema mode was excellent, out of the box settings were pretty good but again I tweaked a few things but once again this seemed to be very source dependent - 4K blu-ray was excellent whether playing a 4K movie, Blu Ray or DVD. This TV has movie sense and film mode settings both designed to deal with aspects of motion handling from what I can gather - they certainly have an effect and I suspect it can be a bit of personal choice with this - especially film mode which adjusts the frame rate. Movies from other sources were all good as long at the source was at least HD. I get the feeling this TV isn't great at upscaling lower quality sources. General TV viewing, i.e. not movies was ok and once again depending upon the quality of the source. I am still however really struggling to get the motion handling right for normal TV viewing - I am not sure what I am getting wrong and may end up starting from scratch but motion interpolation is terrible with some programs - fast motion looks very juddery/blurred and the background of the scene throws a wobbler. Sound is pretty good from this TV considering how bad some flat screens are - they claim a lot of stuff about tuning from ONKYO but basically it gets loud enough for decent viewing and sounds reasonably full - I did find that I had to turn the bass down slight otherwise I got distortion and a sound of plastic vibrating when at higher volumes with explosions etc on screen - I would still add an external speaker and this TV has digital output and bluetooth which means you can even connect a wireless speaker - I have tried the bluetooth but the digital out is great. The operating system is quite clean and neat, a bit slow and I wish there was a button on the remote to go straight to picture settings rather than via menus but can't really complain. There is however a really annoying problem with this TV - the TV remotes have dedicated buttons for Netflix and Rakuten, Toshiba shout very loud about this being a Dolby Vision compatible TV. 1st Rakuten does not work at all and speaking to Rakuten they don't support Toshiba TV's in the UK so it will never work 2nd and very irritating - Netflix does work unless the content is in Dolby Vision !!! All Netflix Dolby vision content will only play sound and a set of green lines across the top of the screen Speak to technical support and they don't seem to grasp what you are talking about (they didn't even have this model listed when I rang) THIS IS VERY IRRITATING - Netflix is one of my primary viewing sources and I was excited to see Dolby Vision in action - anything non DV on netflix works fine. Toshiba have plastered Dolby Vision all over the box but so far can't say if it works. I do have a Dolby Vision Blu Ray player but unfortunately I currently don't own any DV movies This is clearly a software issue that can be fixed by a firmware update but I am not sure how responsive they are going to be considering Toshiba globally are now owned by HiSense and European Toshiba TV's are built by Vestal in Turkey To sum up - sometimes I am really happy with the picture - for gaming, sport and good source quality movies, other times I am not and find myself feeling let down by normal TV Dobly Vision on Netflix needs to be sorted out very quickly. Sound and OS are alright Can't give it 5 stars and was tempted to give 3 but sometimes the picture is so good 3 stars seemed harsh.
