Really intense deep colours possible.

I bought this to illuminate the ceiling above some tower kitchen units, essentially to use them as uplighters. The room is basically white with a light grey floor and a sparkle quartz grey worktop. The idea was to use the colour of the lights to add whatever colour I wanted. The idea has worked perfectly, and what surprised me was the depth of colour intensity that these lights were capable of. They can be dimmed down to zero brightness all the way to a very bright white with strong colour available too if desired. The colour ability is much deeper than those of the GU10 spotlights. These strip lights are very good at what they do. I would not hesitate to buy more for other projects. The only negative is that the Philips Hue lights all need a permanent power supply to run, understandably. This means that accidentally using the ordinary light switch to turn them off instead off using the supplied remote wireless switch is a nuisance. However cover plates designed to be compatible with the Philips Hue switch are available aftermarket.
