Fantastic healthy fast food!

It's a pressure cooker with a brain. Really impressively easy to use.

Super fast & Easy to use!

I often use a slow cooker to cook stews and casseroles, and was intrigued by the claim that this cooker could do beef casserole it in 35 minutes, mine usually take hours! This multicooker was a revelation, all in all with preparation and cooking it took about 50 minutes and the meat was as soft as if I'd cooked it in the slow cooker. I've also tried the risotto and chilli recipes, which were both easy and tasty, I've made a pork curry on manual setting which was simple to do. The instructions are really easy to follow and the results are great, the reheat and keep warm functions are useful extras. It also comes with a steamer basket for veg. A couple of little points, you can't go back to the ingredients list after starting cooking, so keep hold of the recipe book in case you forget to prepare something vital! And if cooking stews you will need cornflour or thickener to use at the END of cooking, I guess you don't use flour as you would normally so you have more liquid/steam to cook with? I really like this machine, its super handy for quick family meals and I'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes I wouldn't usually cook as well as experimenting more with the manual settings!

Cooking has never been easier

I have had heard lots of good comments about the cook 4 me, and I was eager to see whether this intelligent cooker lived up to them. The actual product is quite large but then it does cook for a maximum of 6 people. It comes with a large variety of recipes already pre-programmed in, from starters, mains and desserts. You can also cook from the manual mode. The cook 4 me is so simple to use with the instructions on the display. I cooked chilli last night, and it took 10 minutes to prepare, and then 10 minutes of cooking time. You can also keep the food in the cook 4 me after the cooking process to keep warm. This is going to be such a welcome addition to our kitchen, and perfect for quick mid week meals when family life is busy.

Time saving Family Friend

I wasn't sure what to expect from this item, was it just a glorified pressure cooker, or was it really as good as all the reviews say it is? When it arrived the instruction booklet instructed me to clean it all, which was quick, simple and easy to put back together. When switched on the bright LCD screen showed me the main settings – Ingredients, manual, recipes and favourites. There are 50 built in recips in the recipes section, 30 of which can be completed within 15 minutes – but as this is basically a pressure cooker there are literally endless supplies of recaps on the internet too. The knob on the front controls the settings, left and right to choose the selection and press to select. In the ingredients section you can manually choose what item you are cooking and the weight and the machine will guide you through how long to cook it for – simple! In the recipe section you can choose a pre-set recipe and then be guided through what to do at each stage – there is no forewarning of upcoming stages though, but with a little practice you will know what prep needs to be done first. I haven’t tried it yet but apparently the risotto recipe is amazing! I have mainly used the manual cooking function, and here you have access to browning, quick cook and keep warm (up to 90 mins) – all useful things. You can also delay the start of manual recipes, meaning you can have it all ready to go to cook half an hour before you come home and it then keeps it warm for you! When browning you need to remember to keep the lid of the machine up, but it will tell you to do this anyway and won’t continue to cook until you do so. The first item we tried was potatoes – place a cup of water in the main bowl (with cool touch plastic handles so no burnt fingers here), add washed and quartered potatoes to the steamer basket (provided) and quick cook on manual for 8 minutes. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the potatoes came out soft and perfectly cooked. The steam is automatically released from the back of the machine once cooking is finished, and is even cooled before it allows you to open it, so no danger of scalding. One of my main problems is the steamer basket – it has rubber grip handles to prevent burnt finger,s butt he handles fall into the basket and it really need a tool to be provided to be able to pick them out when the bowl is hot. We have also cooked BBQ pork steaks in about 8 minutes and even frozen veg in 4 minutes! There are lots of recipes I am still waiting to try, especially a chicken in 20 minutes. In summary this is a super versatile, quick and easy machine to use. It is east to keep clean, but the price point might scare some people off. It is definitely a time and space saver for us and means we can still have healthy meals in a quick time on school club nights, instead of always having to resort to pasta!
