Great machine!

I did lots of research before buying this dishwasher, as I wanted a quality model that would suit our large family needs. The 3 drawers are amazing - love the cutlery drawer, and the extra space it creates on the bottom rack by not having it down there (although that is an option as it comes with one too). There’s 5 of us and we entertain regularly. I can now comfortably fit in all the crockery/cutlery/glasses required for a meal as well as the pots/pans - often with space left over. That’s a first for us! Only minor gripes are: 1) The handle for the bottom drawer is quite large so you can’t add a plate/cup in quickly if you’ve forgotten to load it without pulling the whole drawer out. Lazy maybe, but I could do this with my last machine. 2) The cups/glasses seem to fall over in the top drawer unless stacked closely together. 3) As the cutlery trays move, they get a bit stuck sometimes which is a bit annoying. I’m guessing they lift out so you can take them to your cutlery drawer to empty which is a good feature, just not one I need as ours is so close to the dishwasher. Positively they do fit one on top of the other so you can have one cutlery tray and use the extra height it creates for tall stem glasses in the top rack. 4) I would have liked a cap or something each end of the handle on the outside as it looks unfinished with it just being open-ended. 5) More expensive than others on the market. Other than number 5, all are very minor niggles, and the positives far outweigh all of them. I’m very pleased with the machine. If you can afford it, go for it!!

Pros: Quiet, Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good Cons: Expensive

High-end features, quality and design

- Full stainless-steel build -- looks very professional compared to the other grey plastic models on the market. - Barely makes any noise -- unless you put your ears next to it you can't even tell its on! - Cutlery tray a useful addition as is more effective than a basket and creates more room for plates on the bottom tray - Removable top allows it to fit under a worktop or be left freestanding - Plenty of washing programmes to suit any type or quantity of loads put in Overall, a fantastic machine that looks the part too!

Pros: Quiet, Good build quality, Looks good Cons: None

Smeg Dishwasher

Really struggled to choose a new dishwasher as there is so much choice out there. Decided to go for this one after reading the reviews and watching the videos. A big plus was that it matches our oven and that it has the cutlery tray option as well as the basket. It is really quiet and everything comes out sparkling.

Pros: Matches our oven, Quiet, Ease to use, Good build quality, Value for money Cons: None

Great looking machine if your appliances are on show

This stainless steel machine is functional and beautiful. The long bar handle doubles up as a handy rail for a tea towel if you can bear to obscure any of its sleek gorgeousness. This is a full size machine and protrudes a bit more than our previous one did so make sure to measure up the kitchen counter top as well as the width depth of the cavity. In our case we'll just get a new worktop fitted - other models simply wouldn't measure up in terms of looks! The delay timer function lets you set it to use cheaper overnight electricity tariffs and as it costs quite a bit more than average, this will help it earn its keep! We find it really quiet compared to our last machine, and find the family can sleep upstairs even with it on downstairs. The controls and LED operational lights are all hidden away from tiny hands - bonus! Another plus: once you've selected a wash program and settings, it remembers so if you use the same one most days then you only have to set it once. My gripes: If you use tablets instead of separate salt, rinse aid, etc (who has time for this!!!!) it's not obvious how to turn on the setting for tablets - this should be the default these days. You need to press two buttons simultaneously to activate this setting - they are connected with lines on the control panel and mentioned in the instructions. You'll know it's set when the indicator for the tablet is lit. However we haven't had to reset it, as it remembers, so a minor gripe really. It has three racks of various sizes - and the heights and components can be adjusted for your needs. We had to raise the middle rack so the bottom rack could accommodate our large dinner plates. The top rack is for cutlery and we use it for baby spoons, etc. Ultimately it does the washing up so we don't have to and looks great to boot. No regrets!

Pros: Good capacity , Highly customisable racks , Quiet, Good build quality, Looks good Cons: Expensive

Looks great

The cutlery drawer is not very useful as it takes a while to place every knife, fork and spoon in the individual slots! It also means taller glasses can't fit in the upper deck (below the cutlery tray), but fortunately it can be removed (which I have done) and a normal cutlery basket is provided with the appliance. It's very easy to raise or lower the upper rack which is a plus.

Pros: Quiet, Ease to use, Good build quality, Value for money, Looks good
