Dyson V11 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with up to 60 Minutes Run Time

Liberating! At last I don’t get restricted by a lead. I just unplug and whizz round with it. We have two dogs and the ease of use with this product is so helpful for keeping on top of the fur and dust situation.

I was due a new hoover but with little one can find it difficult to always pull the hoover out plug in and go but with the new Dyson v11 absolute I have found this task a breeze its so easy to grab and go. For a cordless hoover I did not set my hopes high but the Suction was something else I did do a test with the old hoover and new hoover and the results was shocking how good the Dyson really is. I would recommend this product to anyone. Worth every penny you pay.

Bought this as I was beginning to get fed up of carrying my 7-year-old Henry vacuum cleaner up and down the stairs and getting the cord tangled. I am fussy when it comes to cleaning and so thought I would give the Dyson V11 a try. I have now had it for 2 weeks and am kicking myself about spending so much and still being so disappointed. As background for the review, I am in my 40s, 5ft 6 and do lots of fitness classes, including weight classes. The V11 has only been used on downstairs hardfloors (ceramic and wood), and in its shorter arrangement on carpeted stairs. First I'll start with what I liked. 1. Looks cool 2. Easily stored in a cupboard. Even managed to get a cheaper stand. 3. Countdown on battery life useful. 4. Does seem to pick up slightly more dust than my Henry. 5. Solid build 6. Stick design means no power cord rubbing on corners in the house. Disappointments. 1. The biggest disappointment is its inability to go under lower furniture. The head of the vacuum does without any issues on my TV cabinet (8 cm from the ground) and sofas (18cm from the ground) but the handle, with its large battery on the back prevents me from ever getting low enough to get to the back of them. Neither the head nor the handle have any rotation to get rid of this obstacle. The stick / hose was easily scratched when testing the reach. Personally, I don't like having to keep pulling out the TV stand to clean behind it. If I had a cleaner I definitely would want them to be doing it. I've seen on the Dyson website that there is a flexi hose that could be used but I'm also not keen to pay more, or to have to keep changing tools when the Henry could clean these areas without a problem, 2. The unit cannot stand up by itself. I had to lean it or lay it down it you stop to move things. 3. Sometimes you need to move things but want to continue to vacuum. The soft roller pivots quite freely which also means it some times needs to be steered from lower down to go in the right direction. If you have a long arm span you can probably keep your finger on the power trigger easily but although I'm not particularly short, I found trying to do so awkward. 4. The handle end is pretty heavy 5. To preserve battery you have to keep the trigger pulled while you vacuum. The shape of the handle and weight of the head hurt my hand after using for just a few minutes. I would guess that this isn't a suitable device for people with arthritis. 6. I find emptying it frustrating. We have a pullout multi-bin in our kitchen units. When emptying the vacuum into it dust goes everywhere. My other half suggested we empty it into its own bag but that defeats the purpose of cordless. 6. While the suction is good, the soft roller head meant for hard floors, struggles to pick up some things (a dead spider took four goes and only by placing the head very carefully over it). It also does not seem to pick up anything from the edges which means multiple attempts are required around kitchen units or skirting. Summary I think my expectations were maybe too high and led by the price. I can see other reviewers have loved it and maybe I'm just too impressed by what my previous corded vacuum could do despite its faults. Knowing what I know now I think I would purchase a cheaper stick cleaner for convenience during 'quick' cleans / clear ups and use on the stairs, but look for something else for full cleaning.

Didn’t work so we need a replacement unit and will be without a vacuum cleaner for at least a week. They are out of stock!!??

Positives: High end quality. Nice variety of heads. Lasts 60 minutes(ish) on low suction. Easy to assemble. Simple to use. Evacuating the filth is quick and clean. Foibles: High power drains fast - like 15 minutes fast (though it is very powerful!). Reasonably heavy and large for a handhold. You need to hold the button down to use - so not great for weak wrists/joints. Overall a good bit of kit

Excellent service from ao as usual. This dyson is a bit heavier than my previous cordless model but the suction is so much better by comparison. The way you empty the dust is easier and cleaner (and the container is bigger) charges up the other way though. Very pleased to have upgraded to this model.
