Krups Bean to Cup - Great all round

First of all, this is a great looking machine. It's chunky, bigger than, say, a pod machine, and you'll need to make sure you can lift the water tank up and out and pull out the grounds on the left side. However, it's also very sleek, very attractive and very well-made. In the box you'll find the machine, clear and comprehensive instructions in multiple languages, a couple of cleaning tablets and a little tool that helps clean the steam arm. It's extremely easy to set up and get going. When we first turned the machine on to use, a fair bit of water came out of the steam arm. This might have been something I did but have a jug/bowl handy just in case. There are a few functions, all really easy to understand and use, it really is quite simple. You can set the amount of liquid you want and the manual will tell you the perfect measurements in ml depending on what type of drink you want. You can also choose regular strength or strong, as well as choose to do one cup or two at the same time. The outlet is height adjustable so will fit any cup/mug. And then there's a steam arm, which is easy to use and highly effective - lovely smooth, light foam and hot, too. Part of it slides out so its easy to rinse and keep clean which is often a problem with these things. There's also a setting in the grinder to adjust the grind - the finer the grind the stronger the coffee. Now for the coffee itself! Of course it will depend on the beans you decide to use, but for me, in terms of freshness and flavour, this absolutely knocks spots off the pod machines we've had previously (the ones that use coffee, not the powdered stuff!). Again, you need good beans, obviously, but this machine produces a lovely, rich flavour and absolutely perfect crema. Perfect temperature, too. After using this I'd say there's no substitute really for freshly ground beans. Even decaf, my husband couldn't tell even though he swore he'd be able to! I haven't needed to do a full cleaning cycle yet, but I've read the instructions and it seems very straightforward. It'll tell you when to do it, which is after around 300 espressos. You can also just rinse the circuit, which is useful for switching between beans. My one and only slight niggle is that we do have a need to change the beans to decaf sometimes and the only way I can see to do it is by scooping the beans out of the container as you can't remove it to tip them out. Other than that, we like everything about this machine, the look, the build quality, ease of use and the ability to make a superb drink! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an incredibly quick and easy way to get delicious, hot, fresh coffee without the time-consuming rigmarole of a more traditional espresso machine.

Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Great coffee, Looks good, Multiple settings Cons: None

Nice coffee but a real fingerprint magnet and quite noisy

I've been a user of a Nespresso machine for over 6 years, initially a Krups manual one and then an automatic DeLonghi. Truth be told I've always hankered after a bean to cup machine to see how much of an improvement it would offer me. I've always been quite impressed with the quality of a coffee from a Nespresso machine. This machine arrives with minimal packaging, and very easy to set up. Included is the manual which as usual is in multiple languages, a pair of Krups cleaning tablets and a small wire probe for cleaning the steaming nozzle. Also in the box is a warning leaflet that the machine will have been tested before leaving the factory, so there may be remanences of coffee grounds in the machine. I looked carefully and did detect remnants of coffee in certain places, nothing to be concerned about though. After filling the water tank and the hopper, I put the machine into Initialisation mode to run a brief three-minute cleaning program before I made any cups of coffee. Of course after switching the machine on from cold it does need some time to warm up, especially when using the steaming nozzle. Some people have reported this being loose but I've had no issues. I've been using this machine to make coffee now for several days, several cups a day and have noticed no problems. You do need to make sure you have clearance to remove and then replace the water tank as most kitchen cabinets will be too low. You also need clearance on the left-hand side of the machine as that's where is the used coffee grounds bin is. I should add that there are also 2 small blue pips in the drip tray that rise when the drip tray is getting full to warn you that it is time that it was emptied. It should be noted that you do need to perform regular cleaning to get the best out of this machine, without it you will get tainted coffee and eventually the thing will grind to a halt, no pun intended! As to the verdict on the quality of coffee made, it's on par with Nespresso, if a bit more fiddly to setup and use. I suppose the best evidence is the fact that I've not use my Nespresso machine since this was delivered.

Pros: Cup warmer, Easy to use, Good build quality, Good quality coffee Cons: Glossy, Noisy

Krups Bean to Cup coffee machine review

krups bean to cup coffee machine is great. When you turn it on it only takes a few seconds to turn on, press the stream button and it only takes a few seconds for it to be ready. It would have been nice if the wand was a little longer but its not a deal breaker. i love that you can take the end of the wand off and give it a good clean. Speaking of cleaning the machine is ready easy to clean. Just push this button and it cleans all the inner workings by itself so your coffee is always fresh. emptying the ground beans is also easy just pull the bin out and empty it. it has a drip tray at the bottom and this blue floats that let you know when its full. I like this dial on the front because you can control how much water is coming through, so if you want a longer or shorter drink you can control it easily. you can also make different drinks with the two buttons for a long drink or short drink but I tend to use the short drink button. This machine takes whole coffee beans so your coffee is extra fresh and tasty. there is a grinder inside and you can also control the grind with a dial inside the the bean hopper. there are 3 options, course, fine, and medium. There is a cup warmer on top of the machine, I don’t really use it but its nice to have the option. I just feel like it looks so nice I prefer it to look like this and not have cups on it. its really quite small and compact, my kitchen isn’t massive so i didn’t want a huge machine but i wanted bean to cup. This is the perfect size for me. The water tank is on the back and is really easy to take off and replace. the shape fits the design perfectly. I drink between 1 and 3 coffee’s with steamed milk every day and I only refill the tank maybe twice a week so I think its a good size. My overall verdict is I’m really impressed. I really love having this coffee machine, it looks great, makes great coffee, and its a good size. If you’re looking for a bean to cup coffee machine I would say you should seriously consider buying this one.

Pros: Compact, Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good, Value for money Cons: Noisy, Small stream wand
