    Tips for measuring up

When measuring for a gas hob, the depth and height are usually standard, so you should focus on measuring the width – it’ll be between 60 and 90cm. Also, you need to make sure no cupboards will hang over the hob, and that there’s at least 75cm between the hob and your cooker hood. Learn more with our guide.

Great design, fit for purpose. Love the Wok Burner at the back

    5/5
Having used this hob for about 2 weeks, I can confirm that it performs well, and as I have suspected, it is much more suitable for me compare to my previous hob with controls on the side and the largest burner on the front left corner. For my style of cooking (high heat Asian) and the hob location where it is at the end of a worktop, the burner positions offer more flexibility, improving the way space is used. Thanks to the control knobs being at the front which makes the cooking area wider, now both back burners can accommodate a 32cm wok and a 24cm pot at the same time. Not only can I use the strongest burner without fear that oil will splatter all over the floor, I can even use the smallest front burner for frying bacon slowly with hardly any oil splatter onto the floor, because this burner is actually positioned further away from the front worktop edge. Some people commented that all 4 burners cannot be used at the same time, but this is an unfair assessment. For this overall hob size of around 60cm, this is to be expected regardless the controls are at the front or side, unless all 4 pots used at the same time have very small diameter. Now the negative, which has nothing to do with the hob design or functionality, it is about inadequate quality control, which is quite surprising for a German brand of this calibre. Disappointingly I received 2 unevenly finished pan supports, one of the corners on one pan support has a much more rounded corner, while the rest are square as appear on the web product photo. In addition, one of the pan supports wobbles badly and I am now waiting for a replacement. Both the Siemens Q&A and the manual show misleading information concerning the WOK burner. NO, this dual burner does NOT offer independent ring control, this feature is only available for the more expensive models. The manual should be corrected to avoid confusion, and the Siemens rep who responded to my Q&A should have investigated further before confirming that this model has the feature as shown on the manual. After complaining to AO who made further investigation with Siemens product expert, I can still see that Siemens has not bothered to correct or delete this misleading information on the Q&A, very disappointing indeed. Aside from this, I still love and trust Siemens for it's built quality, streamline design, and customer service. In addition to this hob, I am also enjoying my Siemens dishwasher, washing machine and fridge / freezer, all of them have so far proven to be trouble free and reliable.

    Very Satisfied

    5/5
An excellent hob with a great finish. The wok burner is ideal for both wok cooking and rapid heating of large pans. The control knobs click into place as you go through the settings making it very easy to use and get the desired heat.

    Quality hob

    5/5
We’ve had the hob a week and are very happy with our choice. The quality of the materials is evident and the simple but striking design features are characteristic of a Siemens product. Clear and useful 0-9 control settings; front controls which mean you’re not ever reaching across heat or open flames, and a brilliant wok burner which heats up quickly and is perfect for a range of large pan uses. It looks great and it cleans easily - the cast iron components clean well in a dishwasher.

    Siemens hob review

    4/5
The gas burners are much more substantial than my previous hob (over 18 years old). Everything heats up quicker but low settings are easily applied when required. The wok burner is a revelation! The metal grids that the pans sit on are heavier than expected so won't move when cooking.

    Lovely hob

This replaced my 10 - 12 year old Siemens hob and is very well built and a joy to use, if it lasts anything like as long I’ll be extremely happy.
