Good overall

Great value for money, only con is the picture seems a bit brighter around the edges - only noticeable in dynamic picture mode.

Pros: Quiet, Ease to use, Good build quality, Value for money, Looks good

No android

Tv has built in app available. I can't get google play uploaded and shop for the apps, I want. The availability apps are limited. Tv specs should state clearly, if it's android supported or not.

Sleek and Sophisticated

I originally ordered the TV to watch YouTube in 4K. But it goes far beyond just amazing quality. I also found it's great for the family, with the great size, app, store, picture and sound settings, it really is a great buy. 10/10 would buy again. Great product.

Pros: Quiet, Good build quality, Value for money, Looks good Cons: Complicated

App store not as expected

Not had much chance to review the UHD quality - but if its anything like the app store then I know I am going to be disappointed - most of the available apps are foreign and somewhat obscure - 225 apps available but not one I would used - it does have the catch-up channels and thankfully PLEX - its runs on on the Vidaa U but there's no way to access Opera or Google play store - if I had known this before I wouldn't have bought it

Pros: Quiet, Looks good Cons: app store

Hisense H60NEC5600 Review

This is a review of the H60NEC5600 60 inch TV which I received from AO.com. This is Hisense's entry into the low to mid range 4K HDR TV market. The design of this TV might feel familiar as Hisense seems to have taken inspiration from some of the more established TV manufacturers for it. This isn't a bad thing though as it looks stylish with a modern minimalist approach, and definitely feels more premium than you would expect from TVs in this price range. The TV features 3 HDMI ports, 2 of which are 4K compatible and 2 USB ports, which one of those is USB 3.0. It also has an optical audio out as well as a 3.5mm jack for headphones. In terms of connectivity it you covered with built in WiFi and an Ethernet port. Aside from the basics of Freeview HD, the TV also boasts a range of features including 4K HDR capability through its smart apps, USB or HDMI, as well as Extended PVR, which allows you to record TV content to a USB drive for later viewing & Time Shift which allows you to pause & rewind live TV by constantly recording what you're watching to a USB drive. The Smart features of the TV offer the apps you'd come to expect, such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video & YouTube, as well as all the most popular catch up services such as iPlayer, ITV Hub and All 4. You also have access to 'Freeview Play' which seamlessly integrates live TV & the catch-up apps into one TV guide. You can also add more apps to the TV via the app store. Hisense claim that this TV will give you soundbar quality audio without the need for extra equipment. Making use of its 2x 10w speakers & the DBX-TV audio enhancement technology, you have the option of deep base & crisp highs through the 'total sonics' setting, an enveloping sound experience through the 'Total Surround' setting or balanced loudness through the 'Total Volume' setting. While there are better looking TVs out there at a higher price point, the design of this TV is something that you can proudly display in your living room. The proprietary VIDDA U operating system is clean & simple, reminiscent of the Metro design in Windows 8 with its big & boldly coloured tiles. It is fast & easy to navigate. On top of that, the remote, which looks rater basic at first glance, has 4 'quick access' buttons at the bottom which allows you one touch access to Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video or Freeview Play. The apps load quickly and you can easily jump between multiple apps at the press of a button. The TV does a really good job of displaying standard dynamic range HD & 4K content, which probably makes up 95% of the content that will be played on the TV due to the general lack of HDR content. While the audio doesn't live up to the promised 'soundbar' quality I mentioned earlier, it is pretty good for this level of TV. Compared to my mid range sound bar the TV sounds too thin, with missing bass response at lower frequencies, but in general it's still pretty good compared to other TVs in its price range. However, the included options such as 'Night Mode', which reduces the dynamics of the audio, meaning you don't have to keep turning up the volume to hear dialogue or turning it down when there's an action scene, are really useful, as they help you to fine tune your audio experience to a level that other lower end TVs don't offer. Because the TV doesn't feature local dimming, the blacks always seem a little more like dark-ish grey, which isn't really an issue for daylight viewing, but it can be off putting if you're watching something in a dark room. You can sort of get around this by reducing the brightness of the back-light, but this reduces the brightness of the whole image. One simple feature I wish this TV had is 'Eco Mode', where you can easily change the brightness of the back-light, supposedly to save energy, but I find it more useful for switching between watching in the daylight vs watching at night to avoid straining your eyes. Currently to change the back-light you have to go into the picture settings and manually dial it down. On a fully black screen, the light on the TV can look quite patchy & uneven. This isn't generally an issue in day to day viewing, as you rarely get very dark scenes in TV or Movies, but in the instances that a scene is mostly black, it is noticeable. While HDR looks good on this TV, especially if you've never seen HDR before, it leaves a lot to be desired especially when compared to higher end TVs. With a mixture of the lack of local dimming & the fact the panel isn't a true 10 bit panel, the HDR effect can look over saturated, which I image is to try & compensate for the washed out black levels. Also, while HDR triggers fine through USB & the built in Netflix & Amazon apps, It doesn't seem capable of playing HDR content from YouTube, which is probably because while it can manage the VP9 codec, it's not compatible with YouTube's updated VP9.2 codec, which is required for HDR playback. Hopefully that can be added by a software update. There also seems to be an issue with HDR over HDMI connections. I've found that when you play HDR content through a device connected by HDMI, the TV seems to switch over to HDR mode, but it doesn't actually switch the picture mode over properly. So, you have to go into the picture settings and manually select the HDR picture mode in order to switch it over. The same happens again when you're finished watching HDR content where you have to manually switch back to a standard picture mode. If you're simply looking to upgrade you old HDTV to a larger 4K TV on a modest budget, then this is definitely one you should consider as it allows you to get a taste of 4K HDR at good value. However, I wouldn't recommend this TV if you're looking for a Premium HDR experience, as this particular Hisense TV doesn't quite cut it. For that, you'd want to look at their higher end ULED TVs if you'd still like to keep on a budget as Hisense do offer good value in general.

Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Value for money, Looks good Cons: Low end HDR
