Product Overview

This sleek black built-under double oven from Siemens would look superb in any contemporary kitchen. It has a main fan oven that circulates heat, so food cooks evenly on every shelf. Thanks to 3D Hot Air Cooking, you’ll enjoy an even temperature on every shelf, because the air is moving constantly, so flavours won’t transfer between foods. There’s also a second conventional oven which gives you more room to cook and has a handy grill function too. And, because it has catalytic liners on the inside that absorb grease, this model’s simple to keep clean as well. This appliance is designed to fit under a worktop.

Great Double Oven

Both ovens heat very quickly, and retain heat well: you can feel a little escape, around the doors, but far less so than previous ovens I've owned. The controls are straightforward, and very clear to read. One dial for the main oven, combination of left and right buttons for the top oven/grill. Large arrows remind you which button controls which oven. Grill is very good, with choice of grill area: grilling with closed door of course means no handles on the grill pan, but this is absolutely no problem. I mostly use the smaller, top oven, as we are usually just 2. It does everything I want. The combined capacity of the ovens is excellent: 56 L for main oven and 35 for top oven. Christmas catering for family will be no problem as both ovens can be used at the same time. Both ovens are quick to heat to the right temperature, and cook evenly. The ovens are well-lit, easy to see into & to reach into; the shelves are sturdy but slide smoothly. Wipe clean interiors: no major cooking spills yet, to thoroughly test eco-clean liners. Push-in button controls make front panel easy to wipe clean, and less tempting for small fingers to twiddle. Oven door is also easy to wipe clean, outside and inside. Timer is loud enough (my hearing is not good) but I found its controls confusing. The 24 page instruction leaflet only devotes 4 pages on operating the oven, and 1.5 of those to timer control. I do not find these instructions clear or comprehensible. But over-all the timer is my only niggle: it is quite complex, as you can set more than one time at the same time. I haven't dared try and set cooking time yet! But I have only been using the oven for 3 weeks, so it may just be a matter of - time. As far as the actual cooking functions, I am extremely satisfied. The look is very chic, complementing new induction hob. My favourite feature is how quiet this oven is, on all functions and while cooling! My previous (not Siemens) oven rattled and clunked like a steam engine, from day one, while cooking, and for a long time afterwards as it cooled down. This Siemens is almost silent: bliss! I'm using it in combination with a Zanussi induction hob: perfect match. Very pleased with purchase.

Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good, Quiet, Value for money

Getting used to cooker

I purchased the Siemans oven based on the Which? Reviews - I'm still getting used to the oven ......it appears to be more efficient than my previous one. Have cooked a roast today using both ovens - chicken cooked beautifully in the lower oven but yorkshires, although ok, probably could have done with being cooked in the lower oven rather than the top.....I found that they burnt a bit. Also made some fairy cakes in the top oven & they turned out well. The star rating is more to do with the fact that I'm still getting used to it rather than bring a bit disappointed. The oven feels solid & well made & looks good too.

Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Quiet Cons: Expensive

Still learning

I am still getting the hang of the new oven. I am more than happy with the design, the quietness, the speed of heating up etc but at the moment I am still working out why I get an uneven cooking pattern. I am used to turning my cooking around in my old oven but had expected not to have to do this with a new, much younger machine. However it does tend to cook better at the back than the front and I don't know why. It's not a problem as I turn the dish around but I would prefer it to be even.

Excellent family cooker

This is a great cooker, oven space is excellent and both top and bottom oven are a good size. It looks very sleek and modern. It takes a while to get used to the positioning of the oven controls. I bought this as a built under cooker not a built in and the instructions for installing it where useless. My brother is an engineer and luckily for me he agreed to fit it for me - 3 hours later it was in! That said - I'm glad I bought it as it cooks cakes and buns really well and cooks food evenly. It is a good family sized cooker.
