Product Overview

Treat your dinner guests to fantastic feasts with this electric hob from AEG. The 4 induction zones use clever electromagnets, which heat the base of your pans instead of the hob’s surface. It also has a pan detection feature, which will only heat up when it detects cookware on top. You won’t need to wait to get cooking either, as the AutoMax function sets a zone to its highest temperature, before lowering it to your chosen setting – so you’ll spend less time waiting and more time serving delicious dishes. You can even connect it to a compatible cooker hood with the Hob2Hood feature, which will begin extracting once you start whipping up your tasty treats.

Easy to use and very controllable

Over the last few years I've had both gas and electric ceramic hobs but this is my first induction hob - and its brilliant. The heat is almost instantaneous and very controllable, not like a ceramic hob which continues to heat the pan for 5 minutes after you've turned it down! I love the Maxisense zones which automatically adjust their size according to the size of the saucepan placed on top - very clever. I have a matching AEG cooker hood and it was recommended to get one slightly larger than hob, (something to do with induction not sending the steam straight up like a gas flame cooker) so for this 80cm hob I have a 100cm hood, works perfectly - although my extractor fan is not Hob2Hood enabled. Highly recommended and I'm not going back to old fashioned gas or electric ceramic hobs now!

Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good Cons: Expensive

Best Hob on the Market!

This hob is incredible. It saves time, electricity and enhances any kitchen. This must be the flagship for AEG. I don’t know why we never purchased an induction hob before. It is a pleasure to cook a good meal. The controls are easy to use, the settings are accurate and responsive. The hob is easy to clean with a soft cloth and the cream used to polish it. It’s safety features are tops. The plate cools down rapidly after use and the plates not used are cold to the touch I have grandchildren and I am not worried that they accidentally switch on the hob and burn. I simply activate the lock when they come. I would never buy anything else again. Along with the hood and oven, AEG have a hit! Well done!

Pros: Quiet, Ease to use, Good build quality, Value for money, Looks good Cons: None

Great Quality, Great Value - Very happy!

Whilst recently renovating a kitchen, we found that we were unable to have a gas connection and so opted for an AEG Induction Hob. Having previously used only gas or ceramic hobs, the difference between the former and induction are light years apart; I just wished I had switched to induction years ago! This induction hob provides the same level of instant heat as gas, whilst being a fraction of the effort to clean. This particular model packs a host of safety features including a child lock, residual heat indicators and an auto-cut out function should a pan over-boil. The hob itself is extremely smart looking, intuitive to use and very responsive to level changes. We are slowly in the process of replacing old Neff/Siemens product and we have found AEG to provide excellent quality and value at the same time. The customer service provided by AEG has been exceptional. Highly recommend.

Intuitive and quality

One of the most intuitive pieces of equipment I’ve used. Has excellent control and the flexibility to place labs in various locations means we can move them around easily. The power boost button is ridiculously quick. We have an AEG hood and it connects with the hob - a fantastic bit of useful technology.

AEG IKB84431FB Induction is the future

We have just refurbished our Kitchen and whilst working with our builder and planning the kitchen he recommended we choose AEG or NEFF appliances as in his experience that provided a great balance of costs vs quality. We looked around and decided on AEG for both our Oven and Hob. Our kitchen design is modern so we decided we wanted a large surface area for cooking so included enough space for an 80CM Induction hob. Once installed the first thing we decided to do was boil a small pan of water just to test it never having used Induction before. We put the pan on the hob and put it on maximum, I was slightly concerned about using touch controls not having the same control as twiddling the knob on a gas hob but there was no need as the controls are just as easy and you have the same level of control. About 55 seconds later we had water bubbling in the pan which was amazing and much faster than our kettle. We haven't done that much cooking yet but what we have done has been a pleasure. One thing I read is that Induction is more difficult to control the temp than gas, its not more difficult just different but you easily get used to it. The other thing I read is that because of the magic of induction and the way it heats the food stuff doesn't get baked onto your pans so cleaning is easier. I can't be 100% sure and maybe its because we also bought new pans but they do seem to clean up easier. Overall induction seems have no downsides and the gloss black glass panel looks great in our kitchen.

Pros: Quiet, Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good Cons: Expensive
