Bought the Mac Studio after much research and I’m really impressed with it. The performance does everything I need and more. 2D, 3D work & video editing are a breeze. Highly recommended for the price. All the ports you will need and it looks great on my desk. Portable enough to move with me should I need to set up in another office or location as well! 5 stars!

I have been considering replacing an aged i7 iMac for a while now and after much research decided to take the plunge and order the Mac Studio. The machine does not come with keyboard or mouse and you will need an old fashioned wired variety to set the machine up. You can then swap to wireless versions. You will also need a monitor and with multiple ways of connecting (including HDMI) this is not an issue. I still had an older Apple thunderbolt display and wanted to use this primarily. You need to buy an adaptor to do this as the older thunderbolt leads will not plug in directly to the Mac Studio thunderbolt ports. Starting up the Mac Studio is much the same as previous Macs and after installing my software and apps I decided to do some real world tests on the Mac Studio for performance, as speeding up workflow is important to me. I mainly use Final Cut Pro X to edit videos with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for imaging. I was certainly not disappointed with my initial results. This machine with it's M1 processing just works so well with intensive video and image projects and in many cases cuts the work flow down significantly. I found that rendering video and exporting video files is much quicker and in some cases pretty instant. I did find that my older G Drive HDD seemed to be the slow cog in the works and so decided to replace with a thunderbolt SSD. After testing with the new SSD I found additional significant speed advantages, and would recommend anyone to upgrade their external drives to obtain the maximum benefits. Some people will think the costs are too high with Apple products but from my experience it is well worth the investment for longevity. I still have Apple iMacs from 2010 and they are working on a daily basis! How many Windows computers would still be working over that period! I always enjoy working on an Apple Macs, and this new beast of a machine certainly lives up to it's name. Viva Mac Studio, another great computer from Apple.

This machine is extremely fast and almost silent. It has a constant fan noice, but it's so quiet that any other sound will drown it out.
