It's good... but it's not great...

So... Let's get the good bits out of the way first, so I can then at least try and explain why I'm only giving it 4 out of 5 stars... It washes dishes, funnily enough, and does actually do quite a good job at it. There are quite a few programs available, and is VERY quiet! I do like the way you can fold down the supports where you put the dishes in the baskets, to allow you to easily wash things like pans & big items. Also, what's not shown in the pictures, is the layout inside. There are 3 trays in total, the upper-most one is for washing cutlery or other little finicky things. This allows you to remove the cutlery basket from the bottom shelf, so allowing you to put more things in. The middle basket is also height adjustable, and very easy to do. I'm still holding out on whether the design is durable, as it doesn't feel as sturdy as I'd expect when changing the height, but it is extremely easy to do! I'm still yet to be sold on the 'Turbo Drying' mode which apparently blasts the dishes with air to aid drying, it doesn't seem to do anything in my opinion, regardless of rinse aid or not... But I'll give it time, may just need some tweaking... There is also an LED inside which lights it up when you open it up, but I'm not really sure as to what the point of this is... Now... There are, however, a few issues... First and foremost, and the biggest one by far, is that if you use dishwasher tablets, then *every* time you turn the machine on, and select the wash program, you also have to go into Options, and manually select 'Tablets'. I've noticed, especially with the default 'Eco 50' option, that the dishwasher has a habit of not fully disolving the tablet, as it doesn't run enough water on the cycle to submerge where the tablet drops. It's just a complete faff having to do this each and every time... My previous dishwasher which was made in 2012, would remember whether I chose the Tablets or not from the previous cycle, even when cycling through all the options, but this one just doesn't. If you have the middle basket on its lowest height setting, then don't even bother trying to wash any large plates in the bottom shelf at the same time. This is especially annoying if you need to wash any pint glasses or tall glasses on the middle shelf, as unless the shelf is on the lowest setting, they will catch on the cutlery tray above it. You can remove the plastic tray inserts from that shelf, but I found the glasses were still catching on the metal frame of the shelf, which you can't remove. Also, if you do fill the middle basket up, don't expect the cleaning on the cutlery tray to be brilliant, as the middle spray bar below the middle shelf is used for both, so if it's full up, nothing will get up & above to the tray. In the manual, it says that if you need to open the dishwasher during a cycle, then to press the Pause button first. Fair enough, however, if you accidently press one of the program selec buttons, then it will move to that program and force you to restart the cycle you were previously running from the start, even if you were a good 20 minutes or so in! Child lock does solve this, and if the dishwasher is turned off with the child lock on it will automatically resume the previous program when turned back on, but just seems like the logic behind this could have been better. Sharps website is confusing... I spent some time researching different models, as my main requirement was to be energy efficient. ao.com list it as A+++, but on the Sharp website, the product speil also lists as A+++, but when you click into it for more information, it comes back saying A++. There is no real clarity as to why? The energy rating sticker which comes with it does say A+++, but it's worth checking. Also, there is no online manual available on the Sharp website for this product, so make sure you keep the paper one which comes with it safe! Still, overall, I'm happy enough with it. Would I buy it again? Probably... probably not... Knowing what I do now, I'd wish I had researched a little more. The lack of available user manual online to read prior to purchase doesn't help, and conflicting information also about energy ratings online didn't help either...

Best Dishwasher I've Had

This is a great dishwasher with loads of programs that will come in handy, like the half load wash i can tell the dishwasher where the dish's are and it will clean only that area. It is so quiet as well that you don't realize that it running. The quick program is very useful for a small load you need in a hurry as well. I have not found anything i don't like about this dishwasher. The build quality is good, it cleans well and it is good value for the money.
