    Product Overview

Treat yourself to some affordable tech with this 50-inch Veltech TV. It may not be the most expensive, but you won’t have to sacrifice quality for that. Full HD resolution is paired with some tweaked speakers to bring out all the detail and action in gaming sessions and midweek soaps alike. Throw in a special mode that keeps image jittering to a minimum and you’ll have the freedom to switch between your favourites really easily. It’s smart of course, which packs a real punch, so you’ll never be short of a new series to watch if you’re more in the mood for some action without the effort. Now that’s a bargain.

    Features we love

    Full HD

This TV has a Full HD 1080p LED screen which will let you enjoy HD channels and Blu-ray movies in stunning high definition. By delivering a much better resolution than a standard definition TV, this model brings all your favourite shows to life with a sharp picture and vivid colours. So everything will look amazing – from soaps to sports – and you’ll never miss a second of the action.

    Top TV tips

Remember that a TV’s size in inches is diagonal from corner to corner. So, if you're using the stand, you’ll need to check the width of the TV in the product specification to make sure it’ll fit on your furniture. Check the feet too – if they’re at the edges of the TV, make sure they’ll both fit on your TV stand. You can read our guide here.

    Great product

Perfect Does everything I need it to

    Great Product

Not a smart tv which suits me as all these features I get from cable anyway. Easy to set up and has all the inputs/outputs needed including scart for my old dvd player. Am really happy with picture quality and the appearance of the unit is very good too. Speaker sound quality is a bit disappointing and really needs a sound bar connecting which is the case for a lot flat screen tv's. Remote is a good size and clear with a quality feel. I would definitely buy this tv again.

    Get what you pay for

This is a 50 inch telly for under £300. What could be wrong ? Well, nothing, really. It seems ok overall. It makes me smile each time I turn it on and it starts up with the very big message "Intializing..." on the screen - lol.. If this was your first TV, or an upgrade from an even more(!) no-frills model, then you'll be really pleased. And you can ignore this review. Plus points. * The picture is very good. * It has 3 HDMI ports - some tv's still only gave 2 - and * It's light - only 11KG. One person can lift and install it. The minus points * The feet (stand) are pretty naff - and don't inspire confidence, but it's a light TV, so should be Ok. * The sound quality from the built in speakers is Ok to poor.. We don't have a soundbar, but may need to get one. Some channels with spoken words (like BBC news) are muffled or boomy. * It doesn't have any RCA/line-out facility for analogue sound :-( Only digitial out. Which means no TV to stereo without an after market RCA adapter. (Or a soundbar) Overall * The picture size - 50" - is great. Only a small margin of black at the edges. Worth the money I guess. Good for gaming. Def. So why 2 stars.? We had a Sony Bravia 40" - and it's probably equiv. of double the price of this. And you can see where the money goes by comparison. The Bravia handset is more responsive, more tactile, has a better range of pickup angle, and by comparison this handset feels a poor effort. Feels like it will break sooner. Worse still, functionally, this EPG is sluggish, and not easy to read - and no settings or anything to configure or change to improve it. Very limited options. It feels a 2nd rate job compared to the Sony effort. So if it's cheap you need, and you don't have preconceptions on quality or responsiveness, its a good telly. Go for it. If you've had better, then you'll be reminded of that each time you try and use the EPG.. (sigh..) So I bought this online - based on reviews it got. And it *did* save me time going to a shop to look at models, and the telly will be ok - i.e. i doubt it will break. But had I seen it in the shop, i'd not have bought it. But that's probably a metaphor for online shopping all-over.
