And if you just can’t wait to get started, you can grab a NEFF Plug&Play hob that doesn’t need any wiring to install, while PowerBoost turns up the heat in a flash, so you can start frying up straight away. Fancy changing the settings from the sofa? Hobs with Home Connect tech let you use your smartphone as a remote control.
No-nonsense NEFF induction hobs
There are lots of great reasons to choose a NEFF induction hob. Instead of using gas and an open flame, induction models use electricity to heat the underneath of your pans directly. Some even let you combine zones for larger pots, making them very efficient. For extra safety, other models also have a residual heat indicator that lets you know when the surface has cooled down, as well as child locks to stop little fingers from messing with the controls – those aren’t the kind of sausages you want for breakfast.
Because induction hobs have a smooth surface instead of pan supports, they’re much easier to clean. All they need is a quick spray and wipe, since there’s nothing to move out of the way beforehand. Handy, that. Speaking of helpful extras, they often have touch controls in place of a rotary dial, letting you tap or swipe your way to a perfect simmer.
Still need help making the right choice? Our buying guide goes in-depth about everything you need to consider when browsing for a new hob.
How to measure
The depth and height of a hob tend to be roughly the same, so it’s more important to focus on the width. This is usually between 60 to 90cm, so you’ll have to make sure the hob you want will fit above your cooker. You can find out more by heading over to our handy measurement guide.
