That’s why we’ve teamed up with Domestic & General Insurance PLC to offer you AO Care, a handy insurance policy that covers your household appliances from accidental damage and breakdowns – for peace of mind.

    What you get with AO Care

    When you take out a policy, you’ll get a whole host of benefits.

    How do I get AO Care?

    After you’ve purchased a product from us, we’ll get in touch to offer you AO Care. Or if you want to call us, you can choose to take out the policy at any time up to one month after your purchase. You can also contact us when your manufacturer’s guarantee is a month away from expiring or ask our friendly team about any other permitted times you can take out AO Care.

    How does AO Care work?

    AO Care is really simple. Paid by monthly direct debit, it gives continuous protection for your appliance for as long as you need it to.

    If you need to, you can cancel within 14 days of taking out the policy and you’ll get a full refund of any payments you’ve made - unless you’ve already received a replacement product. Unfortunately, we can’t offer a refund if you cancel after the 14 days, and if your product’s been replaced under the policy, AO Care will end automatically.

    It’s worth noting that third party policies like home insurance might offer some of the benefits provided by AO Care – but may not cover accidental damage. You might also be charged an excess and a claim might mean that your insurance premium increases. Protection may also be available for limited periods on some appliances from your credit card provider.

    What are my statutory rights?

    If you’ve bought a product from us and it wasn’t of satisfactory quality or fit for its purpose when it was sold to you, you can claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to six years - five in Scotland. If you claim after the first six months of owning your product, you‘ll have to prove that it was faulty when it was sold to you. The longer it takes for any fault to appear on your product, the more difficult this will be. For more information on this, get in touch with your local authority Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau.
