I've previously had a Nest Thermostat for 18 months. However we recently moved house which gave me the opportunity to see what other options there are. Tado's range is very flexible and if you're willing to invest in it gives you very fine grained control over your heating. I'm the kind of DIYer who's perceived ability exceeds my actual and I managed to install this with relative ease. The only drawback I've found with this is the subscription for what I would deem basic features (e.g. Geofencing). It's not much and it can be enabled and disabled readily but still. As a tip, you can get around it by buying a v3 or older (anything but v3+) and make a one off payment.

Product is okay but delivery is quick. It arrived in 48 hours after order. Tado customer service is bit lousy but AO.com is fantastic place to buy good products.

Product was as expected although allot of problems with DFD delivering the product, it took two weeks to actually arrive. Please consider an alternative logistics company.

Easily the most function rich smart home heating solution including geofencing and weather adaptation, zoning and per-radiator control when purchased with radiator valves. Apart from slightly slow pairing with the bridge unit, installation was relatively straightforward. Instructions provided was good. There is a £2.99 per month subscription to use the full functionality, which include auto away (geofencing), open window detection.

Thermostat is very easy to install since I do not have separate hot water tank. Wire provided with internet bridge is too short, i had to use my spare ethernet and micro USB cable. Mobile application could have been better as there is no easy way to turn heating on/off in case you need to. Smart schedule works like a charm. Display doesn't stay on so you do not know what temperature is set to, only way to check is either pressing button on Thermostat or use mobile application. Geofencing / open window detection option is chargeable so I have not subscribed for it hence not sure about functionality.

Very easy to install in the quest to reduce my heating bills.
